Optimized Implementation of PIPO Block Cipher on 32-Bit ARM and RISC-V Processors

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
A lightweight block cipher PIPO-64/128 was presented in ICISC’2020. PIPO of the 8-bit unit using an unbalanced-bridge S-box showed better performance than other lightweight block cipher algorithms on an 8-bit AVR environment.

A Lightweight Procedural Layer for Hybrid Experimental–Computational Workflows in Materials Science

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We unveil a prototype hybrid‐workflow framework that fuses automatedcomputation with hands‐on experiments. Built atop pyiron, a lightweight, parameterized layer translates procedure descriptions into executable manual steps, syncing instrument settings, human interventions, and data capture in real‐time today.

Improved Rectangle Attacks on SKINNY and CRAFT

open access: yesIACR Transactions on Symmetric Cryptology, 2021
The boomerang and rectangle attacks are adaptions of differential cryptanalysis that regard the target cipher E as a composition of two sub-ciphers, i.e., E = E1 ∘ E0, to construct a distinguisher for E with probability p2q2 by concatenating two short ...

Ontology‐Aligned Structuring and Reuse of Multimodal Materials Data and Workflows Toward Automatic Reproduction

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Reproduction of stacking fault energy calculations from literature with a semi‐automated large language model‐assisted extraction procedure: extraction of simulation protocol, atomistic structures, computational parameters, and reported results, ontology alignment, knowledge graph construction and, finally, recomputation forvalidation.

Extended Generalized Feistel Networks using Matrix Representation to Propose a New Lightweight Block Cipher: Lilliput [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
International audienceWhile Generalized Feistel Networks (GFNs) have been widely studied in the literature as a building block of a block cipher, we recall in this paper the results of [1] where a unified vision to easily represent them through a matrix ...

Grover on Korean Block Ciphers

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
The Grover search algorithm reduces the security level of symmetric key cryptography with n-bit security level to O(2n/2). In order to evaluate the Grover search algorithm, the target block cipher should be efficiently implemented in quantum circuits ...
