Mangrove Actinomycetes as the Source of Ligninolytic Enzymes
Twenty actinomycete cultures were isolated from marine and mangrove areas and they were screened for the production of lignin degrading enzymes. The plate assay, using guaiacol as substrate, had been identified as an effective method for the screening of ligninolytic actinomycetes. Six isolates were found to be producing Lignin peroxidase of which four

PRODUCTION OF LIGNINOLYTIC ENZYMES FROM BASIDIOMYCETE FUNGI ON LIGNOCELLULOSIC MATERIALS
White rot fungi produce a ligninolytic enzymatic complex with capacity to degrade a wide spectrum of toxic and recalcitrant substances as plaguicides, dyes, polyaromatic hydrocarbons, explosives, etc., which cause pollution in soils and water bodies ...

Harnessing microbial power to degrade hydrocarbon‐based plastics
Abstract The growing global plastic waste crisis demands the development of urgent, effective, and sustainable solutions. While conventional recycling methods present intrinsic limitations, microbial biodegradation of plastic waste has emerged as a promising alternative.

Ligninolytic enzymes of the white-rot fungus Phlebia radiata [PDF]
One oxidase (EC 1.10.3.2) and three lignin peroxidases (EC 1.11.1.-) were purified from the culture liquid of the white-rot fungus Phlebia radiata Fr. All the enzymes were glycoproteins. The oxidase had Mr 64,000 and the lignin peroxidases I, II and III had Mr values 42,000, 45,000 and 44,000 respectively.

Effect of cultivation conditions on ligninolytic enzyme production by Ganoderma carnosum [PDF]
Ganoderma carnosum has been found in Europe only, at coniferous trees and it is difficult to distinguish it morphologically from G. lucidum. Since G. carnosum has not been studied biochemically yet, the aim of this study was to analyse its ability to ...

Color and COD Removal From ECF Effluent by Airlift Reactor With Immobilized Lentinus edodes
Airlift bioreactor treating ECF bleaching effluent with Lentinus edodes immobilized on polystyrene fibers achieved up to 48% color and 41% COD removal. Under optimized aeration (300 mL/min) and HRT (78 h) without glucose, COD removal remained stable for 15 days, supporting a low‐input, enzyme‐driven strategy for pulp‐and‐paper wastewater. ABSTRACT This

A Lewis pair site design strategy was established to construct Cu‐doped Mn‐based amorphous nanozymes, where Mn and oxygen vacancies generate cooperative acid‐base pairs. The resulting multinanozyme integrates glycosidase‐, oxidase‐, and cold‐adapted enzyme‐mimicking activities, enabling cooperative depolymerization of cellulose and hemicellulose ...

Abstract Advancements in biofuel production technologies are essential for reducing global dependence on fossil fuels and addressing their overexploitation. Many valuable components of biomass, such as cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin, remain underused in traditional biorefineries, which typically rely on a single feedstock to produce a primary ...
