Single Cell and Spatial Transcriptomics Define a Proinflammatory and Profibrotic Niche After Kidney Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By integrating single‐cell RNA sequencing and spatial transcriptomics, tenascin C (TNC) is unveiled as a central organizer of the proinflammatory and profibrotic niche in kidney fibrosis. TNC promotes macrophage activation through TLR4/NF‐κB signaling, leading to renal inflammation and fibrosis.

AGAPIR: A Novel PIWI‐Interacting RNA Enhancing Post‐Decompression Angiogenesis in Degenerative Cervical Myelopathy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The restoration of blood flow following surgical decompression for degenerative cervical myelopathy (DCM) significantly contributes to the amelioration of neurological deficits. This study identifies AGAPIR, an angiogenesis‐associated PIWI‐interacting RNA, enhances angiogenesis and motor function recovery post‐spinal cord decompression in a mouse model

Acute limb ischemia caused by incorrect deployment of a clip-based arterial closure device

open access: yesVideosurgery and Other Miniinvasive Techniques, 2016
Failure of a vascular closure device most commonly results in a hemorrhage or pseudoaneurysm formation. In this paper a rare case of severe acute limb ischemia following incorrect deployment of a clip-based closure device (Starclose SE, Abbott Vascular ...

The effect of acute blood loss complicated by limb ischemia-reperfusion on the induction of the apoptosis of pulmonary leukocytes and its correction by carbacetam

open access: yesJournal of Education, Health and Sport, 2020
The development of acute lung injury is one of the severe complications of massive blood loss. Under these conditions, the apoptosis which is identified as an informative marker of the severity of the pathological process, enhances in the pulmonary ...

Predictive Model for Mortality Risk Including the Wound, Ischemia, Foot Infection Classification in Patients Undergoing Revascularization for Critical Limb Ischemia.

open access: yesCirculation. Cardiovascular Interventions, 2019
BACKGROUND The aim of this study was to develop a predictive model for mortality risk based on preoperative risk factors, including the Wound, Ischemia, Foot Infection (WIfI) classification, in patients undergoing revascularization for critical limb ...

Activation of Spinal Astrocyte α2A Adrenoceptors Protects Against Sepsis‐Induced Heart Injury Through Inhibition of GABAergic Neuronal Necroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study in this paper found that activating the α2A receptors of astrocytes in the thoracic spinal cord can reduce the release of inflammatory factors, thereby decreasing the necroptosis of GABAergic neurons and consequently alleviating myocardial injury caused by sepsis.

Risk factors for critical limb ischemia in patients undergoing femoral cannulation for venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation: Is distal limb perfusion a mandatory approach?

open access: yesPerfusion, 2019
Background: Venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation support is a well-established tool in the care of severe refractory cardiac and respiratory failure.

Lactylation of HMGB1 at K177 Drives Nuclear Export of TIAR to Promote Hypoxia‐Induced Stress Granule Formation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study uncovers a novel mechanism in which p300‑catalyzed lactylation of HMGB1 triggers nuclear export of the HMGB1‐TIAR complex, driving TIAR‐dependent SGs formation in the cytoplasm. Mass spectrometry and mutagenesis reveals that K177 lactylation is essential for this export and subsequent SGs formation.

Randomized preclinical study of machine perfusion in vascularized composite allografts

open access: yesBJS (British Journal of Surgery), EarlyView., 2020
This study was designed to identify the optimum machine perfusion parameters for preservation of limbs before transplantation, and determine whether this was better than cold storage. Normothermic machine perfusion at a pressure of 70 mmHg (NMP‐70) provided superior preservation to cold storage after transplantation.

A Novel Transfer Learning‐Based Hybrid EEG‐fNIRS Brain‐Computer Interface for Intracerebral Hemorrhage Rehabilitation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study has developed the first clinically validated hybrid EEG‐fNIRS brain‐computer interface fusion framework that systematically overcomes cross‐subject generalization barriers through a novel Wasserstein metric‐driven neural template selection mechanism.
