For the roof of coral reef limestone caverns, a novel tension‐shear composite failure mechanism was developed. The most critical tensile crack model was identified using a hybrid optimization algorithm, and the stability of the cavern roof was analyzed accordingly.

Probabilistic natural gradient boosting and Gaussian process regression models accurately predict rate‐dependent rock strength across lithologies. Static strength and strain rate dominate, while geometric factors have minimal influence, enabling interpretable and uncertainty‐aware predictions for dynamic geomechanical applications. Abstract The dynamic

Analyses of limestones and shales
The limestones were analyzed to determine their value for cement and lime manufacture, and were taken from several counties in the state of Missouri. Most of the limestones examined were very pure.

Understanding how deterministic and stochastic processes influence the shape of microorganism community assembly across different spatial scales is essential for disentangling biodiversity patterns. Mires are nutrient‐poor and heterogeneous wetlands that form isolated habitats supporting highly diverse diatom assemblages, particularly in mountainous ...

Simulating past and future refugia for temperate trees in northern Italy
During the Quaternary, trees responded to the climatic changes of glacial–interglacial cycles with large‐scale range shifts. Over cold glacials, temperate tree species contracted their ranges and survived in areas known as refugia. Several studies point to the Euganean Hills (Colli Euganei), in Veneto, northern Italy, as one of the northernmost ...

Textural Variations in Some Iowa Limestones
Textural properties of limestones assume a large importance in determining the origin of the rocks. Limestones are usually called detrital rocks if they possess oolitic, pelleted or coquoinoid texture (Pettijohn, 1957, p. 401).

Ash yield is the primary geological factor controlling the spatial variations in the total gas content of the deep‐buried coalbed methane in the Nalinhe‐Hengshan area, Ordos Basin. However, porosity dominates the differential enrichment of the free gas content of the deep‐buried coalbed methane in the Nalinhe‐Hengshan area, Ordos Basin.

Reactivity of limestones from different sources in Turkey
This paper presents a study on the reactivity of natural limestones from five deposits in Turkey. The conversion rates of carbonates in size fractions of the samples were measured in a stirred suspension of 2.5 1 at 20 degreesC and a constant-pH value of
