Conserved structural motifs in PAS, LOV, and CRY proteins regulate circadian rhythms and are therapeutic targets

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.

Analysing nonlinear oscillation and chaos using fundamental-wave balance principle

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2008
The fundamental-wave current Is1 can be found by the theory of fundamental harmonic balance. Its flow direc- tion represents profit and loss of active and reactive power in order to maintain self-oscillation, when the exciting source applied to the ...

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Realization of Stable Trajectory in Mass Measurement System Using Relay Feedback of Velocity and Restoring Force Compensation

open access: yesSICE Journal of Control, Measurement, and System Integration, 2019
A mass measurement system using relay feedback of velocity was developed. In this system, the velocity of the object was fed back through a relay with hysteresis.

Andronov–Hopf and Bautin bifurcation in a tritrophic food chain model with Holling functional response types IV and II

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2018
The existence of an Andronov–Hopf and Bautin bifurcation of a given system of differential equations is shown. The system corresponds to a tritrophic food chain model with Holling functional responses type IV and II for the predator and superpredator ...

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Study of limit cycles in piecewise smooth perturbations of Hamiltonian centers via regularization method

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2017
In this article we study the existence and positions of limit cycles in piecewise smooth perturbations of planar Hamiltonian centers. By using the regularization method we provide an analytical expression for the first order Melnikov function frequently ...
