Cheap complex limit cycles [PDF]

open access: yesNonlinearity, 2018
Abstract Consider a holomorphic foliation with singularities of a two-dimensional complex manifold. In this article we prove a new sufficient condition for this foliation to have an infinite set of homologically independent complex limit cycles.

Ovarian Sex Cord Stromal Tumors in Children and Adolescents—The European Standard Clinical Practice Recommendations

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT As part of the European Cooperative Study Group for Paediatric Rare Tumours initiative, we developed standard clinical practice guidelines for ovarian sex cord stromal tumors, based on comprehensive national and international cohort analyses, literature review, and a final expert consensus conference.

Explicit limit cycles of a family of polynomial differential systems

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2017
We consider the family of polynomial differential systems $$\displaylines{ x' = x+( \alpha y-\beta x) (ax^2-bxy+ay^2) ^{n}, \cr y' = y-( \beta y+\alpha x) (ax^2-bxy+ay^2) ^{n}, }$$ where a, b, $\alpha $, $\beta $ are real constants and n is ...

Natural Killer Cells in Paediatric Soft Tissue Sarcomas: A Systematic Review

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Paediatric soft tissue sarcomas (pSTS) are a rare and heterogeneous group of malignant tumours arising in tissues of mesenchymal origin. The role of natural killer (NK) cells in pSTS remains poorly understood, with evidence fragmented across small preclinical studies and early‐phase clinical trials.

Approximation for limit cycles and their isochrons

open access: yesComptes Rendus. Biologies, 2006
Local analysis of trajectories of dynamical systems near an attractive periodic orbit displays the notion of asymptotic phase and isochrons. These notions are quite useful in applications to biosciences. In this note, we give an expression for the first approximation of equations of isochrons in the setting of perturbations of polynomial Hamiltonian ...

A Simple Predator-Prey Population Model with Rich Dynamics

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2016
A non-smooth switched harvest on predators is introduced into a simple predator-prey model with logistical growth of the prey and a bilinear functional response.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.
