TORUS HYSTERESIS

open access: yesRadio Physics and Radio Astronomy, 2014
Theoretical studies of the dynamics of a nonlinear oscillator with cubic and quadratic nonlinearities simultaneously excited by low- and high-frequency external forcing are presented. A new mechanism of the appearance of bistability and hysteresis due to

A Discontinuous ODE Model of the Glacial Cycles with Diffusive Heat Transport

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
We present a new discontinuous ordinary differential equation (ODE) model of the glacial cycles. Model trajectories flip from a glacial to an interglacial state, and vice versa, via a switching mechanism motivated by ice sheet mass balance principles ...

Studying the Stability of a Non-linear Autoregressive Model (Polynomial with Hyperbolic Cosine Function) [PDF]

open access: yesAl-Rafidain Journal of Computer Sciences and Mathematics, 2014
In this paper we study the statistical properties of one of a non-linear autoregressive model with hyperbolic triangle function(polynomial with hyperbolic cosinefunction)by using the local linearization  approximation method to find the stability of the ...

Hematopoietic (stem) cells—The elixir of life?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The aging of HSCs (hematopoietic stem cells) and the blood system leads to the decline of other organs. Rejuvenating aged HSCs improves the function of the blood system, slowing the aging of the heart, kidney, brain, and liver, and the occurrence of age‐related diseases.

Explicit limit cycles of a family of polynomial differential systems

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2017
We consider the family of polynomial differential systems $$\displaylines{ x' = x+( \alpha y-\beta x) (ax^2-bxy+ay^2) ^{n}, \cr y' = y-( \beta y+\alpha x) (ax^2-bxy+ay^2) ^{n}, }$$ where a, b, $\alpha $, $\beta $ are real constants and n is ...

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

The Caenorhabditis elegans DPF‐3 and human DPP4 have tripeptidyl peptidase activity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPPIV) family comprises serine proteases classically defined by their ability to remove dipeptides from the N‐termini of substrates, a feature that gave the family its name. Here, we report the discovery of a previously unrecognized tripeptidyl peptidase activity in DPPIV family members from two different species.
