Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Limit Cycles in Quantum Systems

open access: yes, 2015
In this thesis we investigate Limit Cycles in Quantum Systems. Limit cycles are a renormalization group (RG) topology. When degrees of freedom are integrated out, the coupling constants flow periodically in a closed curve. The presence of limit cycles is

Limit cycles in a forced Lorenz system

open access: yes, 1984
We consider a Lorenz system where the control parameter is sinusoidally modulated. Limit cycles appear where previously there were strange attractors. Perturbation theory is used to estimate the critical amplitude of the modulation for which limit cycles

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Limit cycles in a continuous fermentation model

open access: yes, 1990
The existence of limit cycles in a mathematical model for a continuous fermentation process is investigated. Estimation of perimeters and the relative positions of limit cycles are also discussed. © 1990 J.C.

Algebraic limit cycles in piecewise linear differential systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
This paper is devoted to study the algebraic limit cycles of planar piecewise linear differential systems. In particular we present examples exhibiting two explicit hyperbolic algebraic limit cycles, as well as some 1-parameter families with a saddle ...

On the Dulac functions for multiply connected domains

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2013
We provide a method for to find Dulac functions in multiply connected domains using partial differential equations. We also present some applications and examples in order to illustrate our results.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...
