Narrow scope for resolution-limit-free community detection
Detecting communities in large networks has drawn much attention over the years. While modularity remains one of the more popular methods of community detection, the so-called resolution limit remains a significant drawback.

Developmental Disorders in Children Recently Diagnosed With Cancer
ABSTRACT Neurocognitive deficits in adult survivors of childhood cancer are well established, but less is known about developmental disorders (DD) arising shortly after cancer diagnosis. Using 2016–2019 linked Ohio cancer registry and Medicaid data, we compared DD among 324 children with cancer and 606,913 cancer‐free controls.

Dark Matter Constraints in Heterotic M-Theory with Five-Brane Dominance [PDF]
The phenomenological implications of the M-theory limit in which supersymmetry is broken by the auxiliary fields of five-brane moduli is investigated. Assuming that the lightest neutralino provides the dark matter in the universe, constraints on the ...

Review of Detection Limits for Various Techniques for Bacterial Detection in Food Samples
Foodborne illnesses can be infectious and dangerous, and most of them are caused by bacteria. Some common food-related bacteria species exist widely in nature and pose a serious threat to both humans and animals; they can cause poisoning, diseases ...

Detection limits of confocal surface plasmon microscopy
This paper applies rigorous diffraction theory to evaluate the minimum mass sensitivity of a confocal optical microscope designed to excite and detect surface plasmons operating on a planar metallic substrate. The diffraction model is compared with an intuitive ray picture which gives remarkably similar predictions.

Continuous-Variable Quantum Key Distribution using Thermal States
We consider the security of continuous-variable quantum key distribution using thermal (or noisy) Gaussian resource states. Specifically, we analyze this against collective Gaussian attacks using direct and reverse reconciliation where both protocols use
