Central limit theorem for integrated square error of multivariate nonparametric density estimators

open access: yes, 1984
Martingale theory is used to obtain a central limit theorem for degenerate U-statistics with variable kernels, which is applied to derive central limit theorems for the integrated square error of multivariate nonparametric density estimators.

Prediction of Structural Stability of Layered Oxide Cathode Materials: Combination of Machine Learning and Ab Initio Thermodynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, we developed a phase‐stability predictor by combining machine learning and ab initio thermodynamics approaches, and identified the key factors determining the favorable phase for a given composition. Specifically, a lower TM ionic potential, higher Na content, and higher mixing entropy favor the O3 phase.

Temperature Sensitivity and Adaptation of Cereal Yields: Empirical Evidence From Italy

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper investigates the evolving temperature sensitivity and climate adaptation of cereal yields in Italy from 1952 to 2023, using province‐level data for maize, common wheat, and durum wheat. Employing panel data econometric methods, we estimate yield responses to heat exposure, changes in sensitivity over time, and adaptation to climate ...

Central Limit Theorems For Multicolor Urns With Dominated Colors [PDF]

open access: yes
An urn contains balls of d >= 2 colors. At each time n >= 1, a ball is drawn and then replaced together with a random number of balls of the same color. Let An =diag (An,1, . . . ,An,d) be the n-th reinforce matrix. Assuming EAn,j = EAn,1 for all n and j,

Price Premiums for Single‐Name and Compound‐Name Geographical Indications in Swiss Cheese Trade

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Geographical indications (GIs) have become increasingly important in agri‐food markets, especially in Europe. For Swiss cheese imports and exports, we analyze whether GIs are associated with higher trade prices. We find that price premiums can be obtained for both exports and imports. However, this is only the case for cheeses with single name

Damage as Gamma-limit of microfractures in anti-plane linearized elasticity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A homogenization result is given for a material having brittle inclusions arranged in a periodic structure. <br/> According to the relation between the softness parameter and the size of the microstructure, three different limit models are ...

Pricing Dynamics in the US Hemp Market: A Vertical Price Transmission Analysis of the Hemp Value Chain

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The US hemp market is a new and nascent industry that has been devoid of research for about half a century. This study examined the effects of exogenous shock on price at each phase of the value chain—Farm (hemp biomass), and its impact on prices at other phases of the value chain—Intermediary Processor (crude cannabidiol hemp) and Final ...
