Limonoids from Atalantia zeylanica

Abstract A limonoid glucoside and two aglycones, structurally related to the unusual propellane-type limonoid cycloepiatalantin, were isolated from Atalantia zeylanica seeds. The molecular conformation of cycloepiatalantin was determined by X-ray crystallographic analysis.

Limonoids from Astrotrichilia voamatata

The stem bark of Astrotrichilia voamatata (Meliaceae) yielded the novel limonoids voamatin A and voamatin B. The stem bark of Cipadessa boivinina (Meliaceae) yielded sitosterol and stigmast-4-en-3-one, but no limonoids.

Limonoids from Clausena anisata

Limonoids from Melia toosendan

Abstract Four limonoids were isolated from Melia toosendan together with two known limonoids, nimbolinin B and its 1-deacetyl derivative. Among the new limonoids included one skeletal spiro-, one ring- C-seco nimbolinin-type, and two trichilinin-type apo-euphol-triterpenoids derivatives.

Abstract The bark and timber of Nymania capensis contain prieurianin and other complex limonoids, four of which have been identified. The chemical evidence serves to support the taxonomic position of Nymania in the family Meliaceae.

Limonoid glucosides in citrus

Abstract Citrus contained high concentrations of limonoid glucosides. Four new glucosides, isolated from grapefruit seeds, were identified as limonin 17- O -β- d -glucopyranoside, nomilin 17- O -β- d -glucopyranoside, deacetylnomilin 17- O -β- d -glucopyranoside and obacunone 17- O -β- d -glucopyranoside.
