Vein Identification Using Line Features

2012 Spring Congress on Engineering and Technology, 2012
This paper proposes a novel technique to analyze the infrared vein patterns in the back of the hand for biometric purposes. The line-patterns are retrieved in a rotation and translation invariant manner to tackle broken line problem. A set of pair-wise angle relationships among lines are extracted to present the local structure of line pattern.

Robust On-Line Frequency Identification for a Sinusoid

IEICE Transactions on Fundamentals of Electronics, Communications and Computer Sciences, 2006
This paper discusses the on-line frequency identification problem for a measured sinusoidal signal by using the adaptive method and filter theory. The proposed method is based on an identity between the sinusoidal signal and its second order derivative.

The Impact of Ruling Lines on Writer Identification

2010 12th International Conference on Frontiers in Handwriting Recognition, 2010
Paper often includes pre-printed ruling lines to help people write more neatly. This particular example of real- world noise can have a serious impact on applications such as handwriting recognition and writer identification, however. In this work, we investigate the effects of ruling lines on writer ID.

Identification of Cell Lines

2002
Discrimination between and identification of cell lines are important in order to avoid confusion due to mislabeling and accidental cellular contamination. Cell morphology is not a reliable criterion for the identification of cells, because the shape of a cell changes easily with different culture conditions, and a cell population usually consists of ...

Immunological identification of cerebellar cell lines

Developmental Brain Research, 1982
Spleen cells from BALB/c mice, previously immunized with rat cerebellar tissue, were fused to the mouse myeloma cell line SP2/0-Ag14 and the cerebellar cell type specificity of the resultant hybridomas determined. In this report we describe the specificity of one hybridoma, C4/12.

IMPROVEMENTS IN THE ON-LINE PARAMETER IDENTIFICATION OF BIOPROCESSES

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1995
Abstract Often, the on-line identification of parameters in biotechnical processes is a difficult task. One reason for this are the rare and very noisy measurement data. Another reason is that during the cultivation the sensitivity of the measurements with respect to the model parameters may change drastically because of the different stages the ...

On-Line Identification and Location of Rotor Cracks

14th Biennial Conference on Mechanical Vibration and Noise: Nonlinear Vibrations, 1993
Abstract A new method is proposed to detect and locate a crack in a rotor system. A vector quantity ‘Residue’ is defined using the measured vibration response of the rotor system and the modeled system matrices. It is shown that the non-zero elements of ‘Residue’ correspond to the nodes encompassing the element carrying the crack ...

Comparison of six on-line identification algorithms

Automatica, 1974
This paper discusses six popular parameter identification algorithms developed mainly for linear discrete-time dynamic systems. They are namely the Crosscorrelation technique, the first and second Stochastic Approximation methods, the Maximum Likelihood method, the Maximum a-posteriori probability filter, and the extended Kalman filter.

Identification of operations at robotic welding lines

2015 IEEE International Conference on Automation Science and Engineering (CASE), 2015
This paper focuses on the analysis of the robotic operations in a welding cell based on the measurement of the robot energy consumption. In such a way it is possible to have information about the production status of the welding cell without a single intervention or disruption of the main controller program that controls the welding cell.
