Kondo line defects and affine Gaudin models
We describe the relation between integrable Kondo problems in products of chiral SU(2) WZW models and affine SU(2) Gaudin models. We propose a full ODE/IM solution of the spectral problem for these models.

Structure of the Basal Edge Dislocation in ZnO
Basal dislocations having a Burgers vector of 1/3<2 1 ¯ 1 ¯ 0> in zinc oxide (ZnO) with the wurtzite structure are known to strongly affect physical properties in bulk.

Suppressing high-dimensional crystallographic defects for ultra-scaled DNA arrays
While DNA-directed nano-fabrication enables the high-resolution patterning for conventional electronic materials and devices, the intrinsic self-assembly defects of DNA structures present challenges for further scaling into sub-1 nm technology nodes. The

Development status and improvement strategy of in-line inspection technology and management
Pipeline defects have always been the dominant factor leading to pipeline failure. Using in-line inspectiontechnology to inspect and identify various pipeline defects has become a widely acknowledged practice in Chinaand abroad.

Line defects as brane boxes in Gaiotto-Maldacena geometries
We construct a new family of AdS2 × S 2 × S 2 solutions to Type IIA supergravity with 4 supercharges acting with non-Abelian T-duality on the recent class constructed in [1].

On-linesurface defect detection for steel rails based on multi-line lasers
Multi-line lasers were applied to the on-line defect detection for steel rails instead of single-line laser, which solved the problem of "pseudo defects" due to the vibration of rails under the mode of single-line laser.

Attractor flows from defect lines [PDF]
Deforming a two dimensional conformal field theory on one side of a trivial defect line gives rise to a defect separating the original theory from its deformation. The Casimir force between these defects and other defect lines or boundaries is used to construct flows on bulk moduli spaces of CFTs.

Line defects in three dimensional mirror symmetry beyond linear quivers
The map of half-BPS line defects under mirror symmetry has previously been worked out for 3d N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 4 linear quivers with unitary gauge groups, where these defects have a clear realization in terms of a brane picture in Type IIB String ...

Bootstrapping line defects in N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 2 theories
We study half-BPS line defects in N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 2 superconformal theories using the bootstrap approach. We concentrate on local excitations constrained to the defect, which means the system is a 1d defect CFT with osp(4∗ |2) symmetry. In order to
