Open string theory and planar algebras [PDF]
In this note we show that abstract planar algebras are algebras over the topological operad of moduli spaces of stable maps with Lagrangian boundary conditions, which in the case of the projective line are described in terms of real rational functions ...

In this work we show that the Weil-Petersson volume (which coincides with the CM degree) in the case of weighted points in the projective line is continuous when approaching the Calabi-Yau geometry from the Fano geometry. More specifically, the CM volume

This study used longitudinal transcriptomics and gene‐pattern classification to uncover patient‐specific mechanisms of chemotherapy resistance in breast cancer. Findings reveal preexisting drug‐tolerant states in primary tumors and diverse gene rewiring patterns across patients, converging on a few dysregulated functional modules. Despite receiving the

On the affine geometry of congruences of lines
Congruences, or $2$-parameter families of lines in $3$-space are of interest in many situations, in particular in geometric optics. In this paper we consider elements of their geometry which are invariant under affine changes of co-ordinates, for example that associated with their focal sets, and less well studied focal planes.

TRPM8 levels determine tumor vulnerability to channel agonists
TRPM8 is a Ca2+ permissive channel. Regardless of the amount of its transcript, high levels of TRPM8 protein mark different tumors, including prostate, breast, colorectal, and lung carcinomas. Targeting TRPM8 with channel agonists stimulates inward calcium currents followed by emptying of cytosolic Ca2+ stores in cancer cells.

Quantum Oscillations in Nodal Line Systems
We study signatures of magnetic quantum oscillations in three-dimensional nodal line semimetals at zero temperature. The extended nature of the degenerate bands can result in a Fermi surface geometry with topological genus one, as well as a Fermi surface

LIVING THE GEOMETRY: DIALOGUES BETWEEN THE LINE AND THE CURVE
The geometry has been one of the key tools used by twentieth century architects. If the research is delimitated by relationship between two of the most important elements of it, the straight line and the curve by mean of the study of three paradigmatic ...

Pattern Formation and Tropical Geometry
Sandpile models exhibit fascinating pattern structures: patches, characterized by quadratic functions, and line-shaped patterns (also called solitons, webs, or linear defects).

Correspondences between convex geometry and complex geometry [PDF]
We present several analogies between convex geometry and the theory of holomorphic line bundles on smooth projective varieties or K\"ahler manifolds. We study the relation between positive products and mixed volumes.
