Application of line loadability concepts to operating studies

IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 1988
The author describes a methodology for determining the loading limits of extra-high-voltage transmission lines, taking into account the system environment under which these lines operate. This methodology is based on the line loadability concepts developed for planning applications and extends their use to operating studies.

FACTS Controllers to Improve Voltage Profile and Enhancement of Line Loadability in EHV Long Transmission Lines

2008 Joint International Conference on Power System Technology and IEEE Power India Conference, 2008
This paper presents optimum required rating of series and shunt flexible ac transmission systems controllers for EHVAC long transmission lines. This is achieved by computing `optimum compensation requirement' (OCR) for different loading conditions of EHVAC transmission systems.

Optimization of a Fuel Cost and Enrichment of Line Loadability for a Transmission System by Using Rapid Voltage Stability Index and Grey Wolf Algorithm Technique

open access: yesSustainability, 2022
Efficient transmission of power is a pressing concern in modern power systems as it could relieve additional investments (e.g., right of way) and may improve stability.

Analytical Development of Loadability Characteristics for EHV and UHV Transmission Lines

IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1979
This paper contains the development of an analytical basis for the St. Clair line loadability curve and presents the extension of its use into the EHV and UHV transmission area. A brief historical background describes the origin and pertinent aspects of the St.

Compact Unconventional Overhead 500 kV Transmission Line for Higher Line Loadability

2025 IEEE Power & Energy Society General Meeting (PESGM)
Transmission lines are the so-called highways that join the generation to the distribution industry. Alternating current (AC) Overhead extra high voltage (EHV) transmission lines are the ones which we opt for, as they are less costly compared to the ...

Formation of Islanded Droop-Based Microgrids With Optimum Loadability

IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 2022
This paper proposes a new model for the optimal partitioning of active distribution networks into a number of islanded microgrids. The objective of the developed model is to maximize the minimum value of maximum loadability amongst formed islands to ...
