The relation between parameter curves and lines of curvature on canal surfaces
A canal surface is the envelope of a moving sphere with varying radius, defined by the trajectory C(t) (spine curve) of its center and a radius function r(t).

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Geometric characteristics of quantum evolution: curvature and torsion
We study characteristics of quantum evolution which can be called curvature and torsion. The curvature shows a deviation of the state vector in quantum evolution from the geodesic line.

Representation of a Monotone Curve by a Contour with Regular Change in Curvature
The problem of modelling a smooth contour with a regular change in curvature representing a monotone curve with specified accuracy is solved in this article.

The physical dimensions and shape of bacterial cells define the surface area available to acquire nutrients and the volume available for synthesizing proteins and DNA. Here, we use computational systems biology to decode the importance of cell geometry as a major determinant of prokaryotic phenotype, including growth rate and metabolic efficiency. This

We employ first-principles, fully kinetic particle-in-cell simulations to investigate magnetic field-line curvature in magnetically dominated turbulent plasmas and its role in particle acceleration through curvature-drift motion along the motional ...

We report a novel illusion––curvature blindness illusion: a wavy line is perceived as a zigzag line. The following are required for this illusion to occur.

The layout of measurement points is the key to the efficient inspection of free-form surfaces. Two algorithms are proposed for the layout of free-form surface measurement points: the free-form surface Gaussian curvature variation grid method and the ...
