DURING the spring of 1961 we made observations of the H line of Ca(II) in the spectrum of moonlight, with the view of detecting any luminescent radiation which might have been present. The observations were made with the 50-in. reflector of the University of Padua's Observatory at Asiago.

Near-Infrared Broad-Line Profiles In Low-Redshift QSOs [PDF]

We present near-infrared and optical spectrophotometry of six low-redshift QSOs. The integrated Pa-alpha/H-alpha-ratios cluster near the value 0.1, with one exception having a larger ratio consistent with other evidence of reddening.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

A photospheric metal line profile analysis of hot DA white dwarfs with circumstellar material

Some hot DA white dwarfs have circumstellar high ion absorption features in their spectra, in addition to those originating in the photosphere. In many cases, the line profiles of these absorbing components are unresolved.
