Solar Physics, 1984
It is shown that comparing an observed Fraunhofer profile to a fitted gaussian yields more information on shape and asymmetry of the solar line than the simple bisector method.

Line-profile measurement of xerographic copy
Applied Optics, 1978An algorithm is presented which permits easy and rapid characterization of lines typically observed in xerographic copy. The outputs of the algorithm are line edge width, line width, and peak density. Auxiliary outputs are line darkness and spatial frequency content.

Nonthermal effects on hydrogen-line profiles
Physical Review A, 1985Experimentally determined level populations of hydrogen excited states from a low-density Z pinch are used as initial conditions in a simulation to derive electron-velocity distributions. These velocity distributions show excess electrons in the high velocity end of the distribution when compared to a Maxwellian velocity distribution.

Profiling Cell Lines Nuclear Sub-proteome
2017Proteins are very dynamic within the cell and their localization and trafficking between subcellular compartments are critical for their correct function. Indeed, the abnormal localization of a protein might lead to the pathogenesis of several diseases.

AAPG Bulletin, 1973
A technique developed and perfected in France by Compagnie Generale de Geophysique makes it possible to record, process, and interpret reflected events originating from every direction. The field layout is the same as that for conventional, multiple-coverage, seismic-reflection profiling. The only difference is that shot points are placed along oblique

Speed-dependent line mixing profiles
Journal of Quantitative Spectroscopy and Radiative Transfer, 2000Abstract Spectral profiles of overlapped lines are given for speed-dependent broadenings, shifts and couplings. Doppler broadening and Dicke narrowing are incorporated for analysis of atmospheric spectra. Dicke narrowing is treated in the hard velocity-changing collision limit both uncorrelated and correlated with phase- or state-changing collisions.

Optical Emission Line Profile Analyzer
Review of Scientific Instruments, 1962Recentiy fiber optics have been used to record the spectral shape of optical emission lines from plasmas. The adaption of an alternate method of spectral analysis to a modest, low-dispersion spectrograph permitting observation of the profile of moderately broad emission lines from dense plasma in a single discharge is reported.

Evaluation Methods of Line Profiles
2014The evaluation procedures of X-ray line profiles are overviewed in this chapter. These methods can be classified into four groups, namely (1) the most simple methods that evaluate only the breadths of diffraction peaks, (2) procedures using the Fourier-transforms of line profiles for the determination of the parameters of microstructures, (3) variance ...
