Line-profile variability of EZ CMa [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1995
CCD spectra for the unusual Wolf-Rayet star EZ CMa (WR6) are presented. The analysis of the profile changes of HeII lines shows a correlation between the gravity center of the line and the skewness (Robert et al. 1992). The fourth moment (kurtosis) changes with phase and looks epoch independent.

Spectral line profile of turbulent gas [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Optics, 1986
A simple theoretical model is proposed to determine the spectral line profile of a turbulent gas. It is shown that the spectral line profile of a turbulent gas is still a Voigt profile. Its Lorentzian component is hardly influenced by the turbulent motion.

Data on Stark Broadening of Sn II Spectral Lines

open access: yesData
Data on spectral line widths and shifts broadened by interactions with charged particles, for 44 lines in the spectrum of ionized tin, for collisions with electrons and H II and HeII ions, are presented as online available tables.

CAII lines in a quiet region on the Sun I. Dynamic processes in the solar atmosphere

open access: yesSolar-Terrestrial Physics, 2023
We have studied oscillation processes in the quiet Sun outside a coronal hole at different levels of the solar chromosphere. The study was based on spectroscopic observations of ionized calcium lines (K, H, and 849.8 nm) obtained by the Sayan Solar ...

ON THE DOPPLER VELOCITY OF EMISSION LINE PROFILES FORMED IN THE “CORONAL CONTRAFLOW” THAT IS THE CHROMOSPHERE–CORONA MASS CYCLE [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This analysis begins to explore the complex chromosphere–corona mass cycle using a blend of imaging and spectroscopic diagnostics. Single Gaussian fits (SGFs) to hot emission line profiles (formed above 1 MK) at the base of coronal loop structures ...

On spectral line profiles in Type Ia supernova spectra [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We present a detailed analysis of spectral line profiles in Type Ia supernova (SN Ia) spectra. We focus on the feature at 3500 – 4000 u which is commonly thought to be caused by blueshifted absorption of Ca H&K. Unlike some other spectral features in SN

Biophysical Profiling of Tumor Cell Lines [PDF]

open access: yesAnalytical Cellular Pathology, 2011
Despite significant differences in genetic profiles, cancer cells share common phenotypic properties, including membrane-associated changes that facilitate invasion and metastasis. The Corning Epic® optical biosensor was used to monitor dynamic mass rearrangements within and proximal to the cell membrane in tumor cell lines derived from cancers of the ...

Stark Widths of Na IV Spectral Lines

open access: yesAtoms, 2017
Sodium is a very important element for the research and analysis of astrophysical, laboratory, and technological plasmas, but neither theoretical nor experimental data on Stark broadening of Na IV spectral lines are present in the literature.
