Association between genotypic diversity and biofilm production in group B Streptococcus [PDF]
Background: Group B Streptococcus (GBS) is a leading cause of sepsis and meningitis and an important factor in premature and stillbirths. Biofilm production has been suggested to be important for GBS pathogenesis alongside many other elements ...

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Violation of cell lineage restriction compartments in the chick hindbrain [PDF]
Previous cell lineage studies indicate that the repeated neuromeres of the chick hindbrain, the rhombomeres, are cell lineage restriction compartments. We have extended these results and tested if the restrictions are absolute. Two different cell marking

UBE2O-mediated ubiquitylation directs cytoplasmic CTNNA1 to promote cell-to-ECM adhesions
CTNNA1, a multifunctional protein that localizes at both the plasma membrane and the cytosol, plays crucial roles in actin dynamics regulation, cell-to-cell and cell-to-the extracellular matrix (ECM) adhesions and tumor suppression.

Genetic Characteristic and Global Transmission of Influenza A H9N2 Virus
The H9N2 virus has been demonstrated to donate its genes to other subtypes of influenza A virus, forming new reassortant virus which may infect human beings. Understanding the genetic characteristic and the global transmission patterns of the virus would

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...
