On complementarity and distribution of imaginarity in finite dimensions

open access: yesResults in Physics
We investigate the complementarity relation among the l1 norm of imaginarity, linear entropy and the Brukner–Zeilinger invariant information in the presence of conjugate symmetry.

Long-Run Equilibrium Modeling of Alternative Emissions Allowance Allocation Systems in Electric Power Markets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
A question in the design of carbon dioxide trading systems is how allowances are to be initially allocated: by auction, by giving away fixed amounts, or by allocating based on output, fuel, or other decisions.

Delay-Dependent H∞ Filtering for Singular Time-Delay Systems

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2011
This paper deals with the problem of delay-dependent H∞ filtering for singular time-delay systems. First, a new delay-dependent condition which guarantees that the filter error system has a prescribed H∞ performance γ is given in terms of linear matrix ...

Assessing temporal complementarity between three variable energy sources by means of correlation and compromise programming

open access: yes, 2019
Renewable energies are deployed worldwide to mitigate climate change and push power systems towards sustainability. However, the weather-dependent nature of renewable energy sources often hinders their integration to national grids.

Generalized Quantum Theory: Overview and Latest Developments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The main formal structures of Generalized Quantum Theory are summarized. Recent progress has sharpened some of the concepts, in particular the notion of an observable, the action of an observable on states (putting more emphasis on the role of ...

On the Zeno behavior of linear complementarity systems [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 40th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (Cat. No.01CH37228), 2002
In this paper, the so-called Zeno phenomenon is addressed for linear complementarity systems which are interconnections of linear systems and complementarity conditions. We present some sufficient conditions for absence of Zeno behavior. It is also shown that the zero state, which is the most obvious candidate for being a Zeno state, cannot be a Zeno ...

$H_{\infty}$ Control for Discrete-Time Markov Jump Linear Systems via Static Output Feedback

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
This paper addresses the problem of H control for discrete-time Markov jump linear systems via static output feedback. The transition probabilities of Markov chain are assumed to be partly unknown.

Complementarity and passivity for piecewise linear feedback systems [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 45th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2006
Piecewise linear feedback systems composed by a dynamical linear time invariant system closed in feedback through a static piecewise linear mapping are considered. By representing the closed loop system in the affine complementarity form, passivity is exploited in order to prove existence of absolute continuous solutions and stability of the equilibria.

Information complementarity in quantum physics

open access: yes, 2010
We demonstrate that the concept of information offers a more complete description of complementarity than the traditional approach based on observables.

On the convergence of linear passive complementarity systems [PDF]

open access: yes2007 46th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2007
The notion of convergent systems is a powerful tool both in the analysis and synthesis of nonlinear systems. Sufficient conditions for convergence have been under investigation for smooth systems and for classes of non-smooth switching systems in the literature.
