Linear feedback shift register interconnection networks

18th International Parallel and Distributed Processing Symposium, 2004. Proceedings., 2004
Summary form only given. This paper presents a new family of small diameter and fixed degree interconnection networks inspired by chordal graphs and the small-world phenomenon. Whereas most small-world graphs are constructed by a random process, the proposed graphs are completely deterministic and regular. The constructions are based on linear feedback

On the diagnostic properties of linear feedback shift registers

IEEE Transactions on Computer-Aided Design of Integrated Circuits and Systems, 1991
The authors study the relation between the length of the linear feedback shift register (LFSR), the size of the circuit (which defines the size of the fault list), and the quality of diagnostic resolution. They present an analytical model that is used to obtain a simple formula determining the fraction of faults that are uniquely diagnosed for a given ...

Linear Dependencies in Linear Feedback Shift Registers

IEEE Transactions on Computers, 1986
Linear feedback shift registers have been proposed to generate test patterns for the self-test of logic networks. The probability of linear dependence among k bit positions of a subset of k bits in a maximum length shift register sequence is an outstanding problem. In this correspondence, we derive a formula for the calculation of the probability.

Ring Generator: An Ultimate Linear Feedback Shift Register

Computer, 2011
Ring generators are high-performance linear feedback shift registers capable of handling pseudorandom and deterministic binary sequences. They outperform all traditional solutions by providing an unprecedented speed of operations and a layout-friendly structure.

Gated-Clock Design of Linear-Feedback Shift Registers

IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems II: Express Briefs, 2008
In this paper, we will present a method to reduce the power consumption of the popular linear feedback shift register. The proposed scheme is based on the gated clock design approach and it can offer a significant power reduction, depending on technological characteristics of the employed gates. Moreover, the analytical condition that must be satisfied

On the Number of Linear Feedback Shift Registers With a Special Structure

IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2012
Given a primitive polynomial , of degree , we deal with the problem of finding the number of possible linear feedback shift register realizations, with m-input m-output delay elements, such that the corresponding characteristic polynomial is . We show the equivalence between these realizations and a set of specially structured matrices.

Dynamic linear feedback shift registers: A review

The 5th International Conference on Information and Communication Technology for The Muslim World (ICT4M), 2014
An improvement in the security of stream cipher is achieved by introducing dynamic polynomial switching in the Linear Feedback Shift Registers. Several researches declared that this introduction enhances the stream cipher's immunity to cryptanalysis. This paper aims to provide a comprehensive survey that summarizes the recent approaches for applying ...

Linear Feedback Shift Registers

2013
Linear Feedback Shift Registers (LFSRs) have nice statistical properties and a well developed theory. They are also cheap and fast. This makes them attractive as basis for ciphers. In this chapter we will review the part of the theory we will need. A focus lies on the algorithmic parts.

Efficient Software Implementation of Linear Feedback Shift Registers

2001
Linear Feedback Shift Registers (LFSRs) are used as pseudorandom keystream generators in cryptographic schemes. Hardware implementation of LFSRs are simple and fast but their software implementation is not quite efficient. Here we present a fast software implementation strategy for the LFSRs.
