Error Analysis of Linear-Feedback Shift Registers
IEEE Transactions on Electromagnetic Compatibility, 1984Based on a Walsh-function representation of shift registers, a method for analyzing the output errors due to random noise is presented. The transient and steady-state behavior at the output of a linear-feedback shift register with respect to stochastic noise inputs is examined. An example is included.

A reconfigurable linear feedback shift register (LFSR) for the Bluetooth system
ICECS 2001. 8th IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems (Cat. No.01EX483), 2002The Bluetooth Encryption/Decryption algorithm demands Linear Feedback Shift Registers (LFSRs) in order to reduce the length of the encryption key. A typical implementation needs sixteen different LFSRs. In this paper a low power 128-bit LFSR for efficient use in portable Bluetooth telecommunication systems is proposed.

Bounds and analysis of aliasing errors in linear feedback shift registers
IEEE Transactions on Computer-Aided Design of Integrated Circuits and Systems, 1988Aliasing errors in linear feedback shift registers (LFSRs) used as signature analysis registers in self-testing networks are considered. A bound on aliasing is established by a straightforward algebraic analysis of LFSRs. It is calculated as a function of p, the probability of an error occurring at an output of the network under test.

Linear feedback shift register design using cyclic codes
IEEE Transactions on Computers, 1988A design technique is given for linear-feedback shift registers (LFSR) that generate test patterns for pseudoexhaustive testing of networks with restricted output dependency. This technique is based on cyclic code theory. Examples indicate that LFSRs based on cyclic codes are easier to implement and have lower hardware overhead than LFSRs that use ...

Specified sequence linear feedback shift registers
International Journal of Systems Science, 1975This paper is concerned with the design of specified sequence linear feedback shift registers. Given a linear shift register sequence of maximum length or otherwise, three methods are described to determine the logical structure of the corresponding feedback shift register.

A Low-Power Parallel Architecture for Linear Feedback Shift Registers
IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems II: Express Briefs, 2019Linear feedback shift registers (LFSRs) are used to implement BCH encoders and cyclic redundancy check (CRC), which are broadly used in digital communication systems. Previous parallel LFSR designs adopt a state-space transformation that shortens the feedback data path and reduces the gate count. Transformations have been designed to minimize the total

From Hardware to Software Synthesis of Linear Feedback Shift Registers
2007 IEEE International Parallel and Distributed Processing Symposium, 2007Linear feedback shift registers (LFSRs) have always received considerable attention in computer science especially in coding theory and in cryptography. The scope of applications of LFSRs is wide: data scrambling, spread spectrum, build in self tests (BISTs). They have to be implemented either in hardware or in software.

A Matrix Model for the Linear Feedback Shift Register
1989Abstract : In this report, a matrix model is used to discover some of the properties of the linear feedback shift register (LFSR) and to consider its application to security systems. First the hardware and operation of the LFSR is briefly discussed. Then a representation of the LFSR as a finite state device is used to obtain the matrix model for the ...
