A single-phase axially-magnetized permanent-magnet oscillating machine for miniature aerospace power sources

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2017
A single-phase axially-magnetized permanent-magnet (PM) oscillating machine which can be integrated with a free-piston Stirling engine to generate electric power, is investigated for miniature aerospace power sources.

Weighted Linear Loss Projection Twin Support Vector Machine for Pattern Classification

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Based on the recently proposed projection twin support vector machine (PTSVM) and least squares projection twin support vector machine (LSPTSVM), in this paper, we propose a weighted linear loss projection twin support vector machine, namely WLPTSVM for ...

In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

Circulating microRNA signatures of cachexia and cancer in Canis familiaris as a comparative oncology model for human disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating microRNAs as biomarkers of cachexia and sex‐specific cancer in senior dogs. In 25 client‐owned dogs, four circulating miRNAs (miR‐15a, miR‐15b, miR‐16, miR‐140) were downregulated in cachexia, with miR‐16 the strongest individual biomarker (AUC = 0.899).

Estimation of Alignment and Transverse Load in Multi-Bearing Rotor System

open access: yesInternational Journal of Rotating Machinery, 1997
The paper presents a method for estimation of a multi-bearing machine alignment on the basis of measured eccentricities of the shaft in machine bearings. The method uses a linear FEM model of the rotor and the non-linear models of machine bearings.

Translating whole‐genome doubling into precision medicine in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Whole‐genome doubling creates a WGD‐positive tumor state characterized by persistent chromosomal instability, karyotypic diversification, and cellular stress. These same biological pressures drive aggressive tumor evolution while exposing therapeutic vulnerabilities, providing a rationale for WGD‐informed precision medicine. Whole‐genome doubling (WGD)
