Output Feedback Design for Parameter Varying Systems Subject to Persistent Disturbances and Control Rate Constraints

open access: yesInternational Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper develops a framework for designing output feedback controllers for constrained linear parameter‐varying systems that experience persistent disturbances. We specifically propose an incremental parameter‐varying output feedback control law to address control rate constraints, as well as state and control amplitude constraints.

Decentralized robust control design using LMI [PDF]

open access: yesActa Montanistica Slovaca, 2008
The paper deals with application of decentralized controllers for large-scale systems with subsystems interaction and system matrices uncertainties. The desired stability of the whole system is guaranteed while at the same time the tolerable bounds in ...

LQR-LMI control applied to convex-bounded domains

open access: yesCogent Engineering, 2018
Recently, propositions of new conditions necessary and sufficient in the controller’s synthesis, based on linear quadratic problems, have been especially combined with the mathematical description in the form of Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMI ...

Comparative Analysis of the Performances of a Nonlinear Observer and Nonlinear Kalman Filters in the Presence of Non‐Gaussian Disturbances

open access: yesInternational Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper focuses on state estimation for a fairly general class of systems, involving nonlinear functions and disturbances in both the process dynamics and output equations. A nonlinear observer that satisfies a H∞$$ {\boldsymbol{H}}_{\boldsymbol{\infty}} $$ disturbance attenuation constraint in addition to providing asymptotic stability in ...

Optimal Gain Selection for the Arbitrary‐Order Homogeneous Differentiator

open access: yesInternational Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Differentiation of noisy signals is a relevant and challenging task. Widespread approaches are the linear high‐gain observer acting as a differentiator and Levant's robust exact differentiator with a discontinuous right‐hand side. We consider the family of arbitrary‐order homogeneous differentiators, which includes these special cases.

String‐Stable Platooning Control of Connected Automated Vehicles Under Non‐Uniform Stochastic Communication Delays

open access: yesInternational Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper is concerned with the platooning control problem of connected automated vehicles (CAVs) under non‐uniform stochastic vehicle‐to‐vehicle (V2V) communication delays. Most existing relevant studies assume uniform or deterministic or slowly varying delays, or design platoon controllers based on worst‐case delay bounds, resulting in ...

Periodic Scenario Trees: A Novel Framework for Robust Periodic Invariance and Stabilization of Constrained Uncertain Linear Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This work proposes a new framework for stabilizing uncertain linear systems and for determining robust periodic invariant sets and their associated control laws for constrained uncertain linear systems. Necessary and sufficient conditions for stabilizability by periodic controllers are stated and proven using finite step Lyapunov functions for

Stochastic Stability of Neural Networks with Both Markovian Jump Parameters and Continuously Distributed Delays

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2009
The problem of stochastic stability is investigated for a class of neural networks with both Markovian jump parameters and continuously distributed delays. The jumping parameters are modeled as a continuous-time, finite-state Markov chain.

Anti-synchronization of chaotic neural networks with time-varying delays via linear matrix inequality (LMI)

open access: yesInternational Journal of the Physical Sciences, 2012
In this paper, anti-synchronization problem of two identical chaotic neural networks with time-varying delays is proposed. By using time-delay feedback control technique, mean value theorem and the Leibniz-Newton formula, and by constructing appropriately Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, sufficient condition is proposed to guarantee the asymptotically ...

Distributed Optimization of Finite Condition Number for Laplacian Matrix in Multi‐Agent Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper addresses the distributed optimization of the finite condition number of the Laplacian matrix in multi‐agent systems. The finite condition number, defined as the ratio of the largest to the second smallest eigenvalue of the Laplacian matrix, plays an important role in determining the convergence rate and performance of consensus ...
