Convex equilibrium‐free stability and performance analysis of discrete‐time nonlinear systems

open access: yesIET Control Theory & Applications
This paper considers the equilibrium‐free stability and performance analysis of discrete‐time nonlinear systems. Two types of equilibrium‐free notions are considered. Namely, the universal shifted concept, which considers stability and performance w.r.t.

On switching controllers for a class of linear parameter varying systems [PDF]

open access: yesSystems & Control Letters, 2007
Abstract We consider switching H ∞ controllers for a class of linear parameter varying (LPV) systems scheduled along a measurable parameter trajectory. The candidate controllers are selected from a given controller set according to the switching rules based on the scheduling variable.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Embedding of Nonlinear Systems in a Linear Parameter-Varying Representation

open access: yesIFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2014
This paper introduces a systematic approach to synthesize linear parameter-varying (LPV) representations of nonlinear (NL) systems which are originally defined by control affine state-space representations. The conversion approach results in LPV state-space representations in the observable canonical form.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

An adaptive observer design approach for a class of discrete-time nonlinear systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, 2018
We consider the problem of joint estimation of states and some constant parameters for a class of nonlinear discrete-time systems. This class contains systems that could be transformed into a quasi-LPV (linear parameter varying) polytopic model in the ...

Closed‐Loop Identification for Control of Linear Parameter Varying Systems [PDF]

open access: yesAsian Journal of Control, 2012
AbstractThis paper deals with system identification for control of linear parameter varying systems. In practical applications, it is often important to be able to identify small plant changes in an incremental manner without shutting down the system and/or disconnecting the controller; unfortunately, closed‐loop system identification is more difficult

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Identification of Continuous-Time Linear Parameter Varying Systems With Noisy Scheduling Variable Using Local Regression

open access: yesIEEE Access
Some nonlinear systems can be represented through linear parameter varying models. In this work, we address the estimation of continuous-time linear parameter varying models in output error form, using a refined instrumental variable method.
