Stabilization of linear parameter varying systems

Proceedings of 32nd IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2002
Reviews two existing methods for stabilization: small-gain input/output methods and high-gain state space methods. The authors further investigate these methods in the context of possible conservatism and robustness properties. The authors then suggest possible alternative structures for linear parameter varying systems stabilization.

On Stability of Linear Varying-Parameter Systems

Journal of Applied Physics, 1951
A linear varying-parameter system is defined to be stable if and only if every bounded input produces a bounded output. It is shown that a necessary and sufficient condition for stability is that the impulsive response of the system W(t, τ) should be integrable (considered as a function τ) for all t.

Initial Conditions in Linear Varying-Parameter Systems

Journal of Applied Physics, 1951
The problem considered in this paper is that of determining the response of an initially excited linear varying-parameter system to a given input. Mathematically, this problem reduces to solving a linear differential equation (with time-dependent coefficients) subject to prescribed initial conditions.

Structured control of affine linear parameter varying systems

Proceedings of the 2011 American Control Conference, 2011
This paper presents a new procedure to design structured controllers for discrete-time affine linear parameter-varying systems (A-LPV). The class of control structures includes decentralized of any order, fixed-order output feedback, simultaneous plant-control design, among others.

Subspace identification of multivariable linear parameter-varying systems

Automatica, 2002
A subspace identification method is discussed. It deals with multivariable linear parameter-varying state-space systems with affine parameter dependence. To overcome the problem of exponential increase in the number of rows of the data matrices, a selection procedure for reducing their numbers is proposed.

Recursive subspace identification of linear parameter-varying systems

2012 American Control Conference (ACC), 2012
In this paper, a recursive algorithm for blackbox identification of linear parameter-varying (LPV) systems is proposed. The algorithm belongs to the class of subspace identification methods and is based on an existing LPV subspace identification algorithm with block-processing, which is modified and extended to the recursive estimation scenario.

Adaptive estimation of time-varying parameters in linear systems

Proceedings of the 2003 American Control Conference, 2003., 2004
Estimation of time-varying parameters via local polynomial approximations in linearly parameterized systems is considered. A strategy for approximating a time-varying parameter locally by a polynomial is given. The estimation time divided into small intervals; in each interval the time-varying parameter is approximated by a time polynomial with unknown

Distributed control of linear parameter-varying decomposable systems

2013 American Control Conference, 2013
This work presents a linear parameter-varying (LPV) approach to distributed control that extends the notion of decomposable systems to decomposable LPV systems. We provide results for the synthesis of distributed output-feedback LPV controllers for heterogeneously scheduled distributed LPV systems in linear fractional (LFT) representation.

Stabilizability of a linear parameter-varying system

Proceedings of the 1999 American Control Conference (Cat. No. 99CH36251), 1999
The stability of a linear parameter-varying plant for missile guidance with time invariant controllers is studied. It is shown that the stabilizability of the linear parameter-varying plant is guaranteed if its parameter-frozen plants are stabilized with the same controller under a reasonable assumption.
