FEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 (MMP9) drives ovarian cancer progression. Using MMP9‐null cells (M9‐KO) created from ovarian cancer cells, we found MMP9 loss did not block Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)‐driven E‐cadherin dissolution or EMT but delayed and reduced EGF‐driven membrane protrusions. Transient MMP9 re‐expression drove membrane protrusion.

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum
FEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.

Modern Mathematical MethodsA general family of positive linear operators associated with a power expansion is studied. An upper estimate of the rate of convergence is obtained for bounded continuous functions in \([0,\infty)\) that has limit when \(x\to \infty\).
