Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Revisiting the Total Hildebrand and Partial Hansen Solubility Parameters of Analgesic Drug Meloxicam
The reported total Hildebrand solubility parameter (δ2) value of meloxicam, as calculated based on the group contribution method proposed by Fedors, was compared with those estimated based on the maximum solubility peaks observed in different aqueous ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

A Study on Retention of a Series of Aromatic Compounds in Mixed Micellar Liquid Chromatography Using Linear Solvation Energy Relationship (LSER) [PDF]
The effect of SDS (0.03-0.07 M) and Brij-35(0-0.003 M) concentrations and temperature on retention parameters of 30 solutes in micellar reversed- phase liquid chromatography systems were studied using solvation parameter model.
