Linear cryptanalysis of pseudorandom functions [PDF]
Relatório de projeto de pesquisa. In this paper, we study linear relations propagating across block ciphers from the key input to the ciphertext (for a fixed plaintext block).

Quasi-linear score for capturing heterogeneous structure in biomarkers
Background Linear scores are widely used to predict dichotomous outcomes in biomedical studies because of their learnability and understandability. Such approaches, however, cannot be used to elucidate biodiversity when there is heterogeneous structure ...

ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) is an established home‐based kidney replacement therapy (KRT), but its uptake remains low in Japan. We evaluated whether individualized education in a dedicated outpatient clinic was associated with the initiation of PD.

Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Haefliger structures and linear homotopy [PDF]
The notion of linear-homotopy into a classifying space is introduced and used to give a precise classification of Haefliger structures. Appendix on the product theorem for simplicial spaces and realizations of bisimplicial spaces.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

On tau functions associated with linear systems [PDF]
\noindent {\bf Abstract} This paper considers the Fredholm determinant $\det (I-\Gamma_x)$ of a Hankel integral operator on $L^2(0, \infty )$ with kernel $\phi (s+t+2x)$, where $\phi$ is a matrix scattering function.

Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

The Sideways Hourglass: Establishing the Lemniscate as a Narrative Structure for Writing and Reading Non-Linear Stories [PDF]
This thesis is a study in narratology that examines the pre-theoretical ideas that underlie the study of narrative and time. The thesis explores how the lemniscate can be transported from geometry to narrative in order to structure a non-linear story ...

Algebraic structure count of linear phenylenes and their congeners [PDF]
The algebraic structure count of the linear phenylene with h six-membered rings is known to be equal to h + 1. We show that the same expression applies if each four-membered ring in the phenylene is replaced by a linear array consisting of k four ...
