Geometric Theory of Linear Controlled Systems

1969
Geometric techniques are widely used in the study of optimal control problems. In the proof of the maximum principle [1] the essential arguments involved geometric ideas such as the cone of attainability and the existence of a separating hyperplane in a certain space.

Linear Systems and Control Theory for Quantum Information

2017
This chapter illustrates several example applications of the theory of linear quantum systems to the analysis of problems of interest in quantum information processing and discusses two experimental demonstrations of real-time coherent feedback and measurement-based feedback control from the literature.

Theory of automatic control. Linear, continuous systems

2021
The textbook presents the basics of the classical theory of automatic control, based on mathematical models of real systems, given in the form of systems of linear differential equations with constant coefficients. Methods based on Laplace and Fourier transforms, stability, controllability, and observability theory, as well as directed graph theory and

Control Theory of Non-linear Mechanical Systems

1996
Abstract This book introduces a new framework for non-linear analysis and control of intelligent machines such as robot arms, mechanical hands, and other advanced mechatronic systems. It clarifies the physical and mathematical prinicples underlying the complicated dynamics of non-linear mechanical systems and deals with the design of ...

Nonautonomous Linear Hamiltonian Systems: Oscillation, Spectral Theory and Control

2016
This book is devoted to a study of the oscillation theory of nonautonomous linear Hamiltonian systems and that of a spectral theory adapted to such systems. Some methods of topological dynamics and ergodic theory, including Lyapunov exponents, exponential dichotomies, and rotation numbers are applied to this study.

Sturmian theory for linear Hamiltonian systems without controllability

Mathematische Nachrichten, 2011
Summary: We present Sturmian separation and comparison theorems for linear Hamiltonian systems when no controllability assumption is imposed. This generalizes the traditional results of W. T. Reid for controllable (or normal) linear Hamiltonian systems to the possibly abnormal case.

A Tutorial on Geometric Control Theory of Linear Systems

2010
This paper reviews in a condensed form the main tools and results of the geometric approach developed in the last forty years. Because of the vastness of the subject, this tutorial does not pretend to be exhaustive, and more emphasis will be given to selected topics and to the related computational tools.
