Solving Nonlinear Second-Order ODEs via the Eisenhart Lift and Linearization

open access: yesAxioms
The linearization of nonlinear differential equations represents a robust approach to solution derivation, typically achieved through Lie symmetry analysis.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Geometrical properties of numerical range of matrix polynomials

open access: yes, 1996
Through the linearization of a matrix polynomial P(λ), the symmetry and the sharp points of the numerical range ω(P(λ)) are ...

Linearization of power amplifiers by baseband digital predistortion for OFDM transmitters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
For the signals with high peak-to-average ratio (PAR), such as WiMax OFDM, power amplifiers need to operate in a compression mode. It results in a non-linear distortion of the output signal.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Linearization of high-efficiency power amplifiers using digital baseband predistortion with iterative injection

open access: yes, 2010
This paper presents the linearization of a high-efficiency compressed power amplifier (PA) by iterative digital predistortion with suppression of memory effects.

Linearized and High Frequency Electrooptic Modulators [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
An analysis is performed of many standard and linearized electrooptic modulators known in the industry. The transfer functions of these modulators are evaluated under a consistent set of performance figures of merit, which are gain and spur-free dynamic

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.
