Clustering Algorithm Reveals Dopamine‐Motor Mismatch in Cognitively Preserved Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To explore the relationship between dopaminergic denervation and motor impairment in two de novo Parkinson's disease (PD) cohorts. Methods n = 249 PD patients from Parkinson's Progression Markers Initiative (PPMI) and n = 84 from an external clinical cohort.

Integrated systems toxicology identifies TCDD-responsive targets linked to immune dysregulation and treatment response in psoriasis

open access: yesFrontiers in Medicine
BackgroundPsoriasis is a chronic immune-mediated inflammatory skin disease driven by dysregulation of the IL-23/IL-17 axis and influenced by genetic and environmental factors.

THE EFFECT OF MUTATION ON LINK CONCORDANCE, 3-MANIFOLDS, AND THE MILNOR INVARIANTS

open access: yes, 2019
We study the effect of mutation on link concordance and 3-manifolds. We show that the set of links concordant to sublinks of homology boundary links is not closed under positive mutation.

Brainstem and Cerebellar Volume Loss and Associated Clinical Features in Progressive Supranuclear Palsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) is a neurodegenerative ‘tauopathy’ with predominating pathology in the basal ganglia and midbrain. Caudal tau spread frequently implicates the cerebellum; however, the pattern of atrophy remains equivocal.

Impact of Asymptomatic Intracranial Hemorrhage on Outcome After Endovascular Stroke Treatment

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Endovascular treatment (EVT) achieves high rates of recanalization in acute large‐vessel occlusion (LVO) stroke, but functional recovery remains heterogeneous. While symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage (sICH) has been well studied, the prognostic impact of asymptomatic intracranial hemorrhage (aICH) after EVT is less certain ...

The Alexander polynomials of immersed concordant links [PDF]

open access: yesBoletín de la Sociedad Matemática Mexicana, 2014
In this low-dimensional topology article, the author relates the 4-dimensional clasp distance of two links to their beta-distance and their torsion Alexander polynomials. The main result unifies results of Kanenobu and the author. Let \(L\) and \(L'\) be two links in the 3-sphere \(S^3\) with \(r\geq2\) components.

A new concordance group of links

open access: yes, 2018
The knot concordance group has been the subject of much study since its introduction by Ralph Fox and John Milnor in 1966. One might hope to generalize the notion of a concordance group to links; however, the immediate generalization to the set of links ...

Geometric Filtrations of Classical Link Concordance

open access: yes, 2011
This paper describes grope and Whitney tower filtrations on the set of concordance classes of classical links in terms of class and order respectively. Using the tree-valued intersection theory of Whitney towers, the associated graded quotients are shown to be finitely generated abelian groups under a (surprisingly) well-defined connected sum operation.

Feasibility and Tolerability of Performing Portable MRI for Neurological Disorders in an Outpatient Neurology Clinic: A Prospective Cohort

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Accessing brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can be challenging, especially for underserved patients, which may lead to disparities in neurological diagnosis. Method This mixed‐methods study enrolled adults with one of four neurological disorders: mild cognitive impairment or dementia of the Alzheimer type, multiple sclerosis ...
