Early‐life high‐fat diet exposure increases Achilles tendon stiffness and induces transcriptomic alterations

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

Geographic Classification for Health - Concordance Files

open access: yes, 2023
These datasets are concordance files that link the Geographic Classification for Health (GCH) to statistical geographies and geographic units commonly used in health research and analysis in Aotearoa New Zealand (NZ).

MagmaFlow: A desktop platform for artificial intelligence‐driven expression analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
MagmaFlow is a free, no‐code platform for gene expression analysis. It generates interactive volcano plots, links genes to literature, pathways, and diseases, prioritizes candidates using millions of publications, identifies affected biological processes, builds network diagrams, and exports publication‐ready figures and reports for macOS and Windows ...

Link concordance implies link homotopy

open access: yes
We show that link concordance implies link homotopy for immersions of codimension at least two. As a consequence, we prove that every link $\sqcup^r S^n \hookrightarrow S^{n+2}$ is link homotopically trivial for $n\geq 2$, that is, there is a {\em link} homotopy that (for each time parameter) maps distinct component $n$-spheres disjointly into $S^{n+2}$

New Concordance Classes From Infection By A String Link

open access: yes, 2016
Knots and links play an important role in 3-manifolds and the equiva- lence relation of concordance of knots and links plays an important role in 4-manifolds.

Milnor concordance invariant for surface-links and beyond

open access: yes, 2021
We generalize Milnor link invariants to all types of surface-links in 4-space (possibly with boundary) and more generally to all codimension 2 embeddings.

Long‐Term Follow‐Up of Chemotherapy‐Associated Biological Aging in Women With Early Breast Cancer

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Women threated with adjuvant chemotherapy for early breast cancer have sustained long‐term increase in p16INK4a,, a robust marker of cell senescence, suggesting a chemotherapy‐associated age acceleration. p16INK4a as well as other biomarkers may identify patients at greatest risk for senescence‐related diseases of aging.

The link concordance invariant from Lee homology

open access: yes, 2011
We use the knot homology of Khovanov and Lee to construct link concordance invariants generalizing the Rasmussen s-invariant of knots. The relevant invariant for a link is a filtration on a vector space of dimension 2|L|.

Link concordance, homology cobordism, and Hirzebruch-type defects from iterated p-covers

open access: yes, 2018
We obtain new invariants of topological link concordance and homology cobordism of 3-manifolds from Hirzebruch-type intersection form defects of towers of iterated p-covers.

Risk Prediction Models for Recurrence After Curative Treatment of Early‐Stage or Locally Advanced Lung Cancer: A Systematic Review

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
This systematic review synthesizes prognostic models for survival and recurrence in resected non‐small cell lung cancer. While many models demonstrate moderate to good discrimination, few are externally validated and reporting quality is variable, limiting clinical applicability and highlighting the need for robust, transparent model development ...
