Concordance of links with identical Alexander invariants [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, 2014
J. Davis showed that the topological concordance class of a link in the 3-sphere is uniquely determined by its Alexander polynomial for 2-component links with Alexander polynomial one. A similar result for knots with Alexander polynomial one was shown earlier by M. Freedman.

FINITE TYPE LINK CONCORDANCE INVARIANTS [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Knot Theory and Its Ramifications, 2000
This paper is a follow-up to [10], in which the author showed that the only real-valued finite type invariants of link homotopy are the linking numbers of the components. In this paper, we extend the methods used to show that the only real-valued finite type invariants of link concordance are, again, the linking numbers of the components.

Concordance to links with unknotted components [PDF]

open access: yesAlgebraic & Geometric Topology, 2012
We show that there are links whose individual components are concordant to the unknot, but which are not concordant to any link with unknotted components. We give examples in the topological category, and examples in the smooth category which are topologically slice. We also give generalizations regarding components of prescribed Alexander polynomials.

Localization and finiteness in link concordance

open access: yesTopology and its Applications, 1989
This article contains a very nice survey of recent results in link concordance theory (except for the recent examples of Cochran-Orr of links not concordant to boundary links) along with two new contributions of the author. The first of these is the construction of a concordance invariant of 2-dimensional links in 4-space whose vanishing is necessary ...

Concordance Invariance of Levine-Tristram Signatures of Links

open access: yesDocumenta Mathematica, 2017
We determine for which complex numbers on the unit circle the Levine-Tristram signature and the nullity give rise to link concordance invariants.

Immersed concordance of links and Heegaard Floer homology [PDF]

open access: yesIndiana University Mathematics Journal, 2018
An immersed concordance between two links is a concordance with possible self-intersections. Given an immersed concordance we construct a smooth four-dimensional cobordism between surgeries on links. By applying $d$-invariant inequalities for this cobordism we obtain inequalities between the $H$-functions of links, which can be extracted from the link ...

Pharmacotherapy guideline concordance for major depressive disorder and its link to functioning via symptom change

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Translational Science
Introduction: Alleviation of symptom severity for major depressive disorder (MDD) is known to be associated with a lagged improvement of functioning. Pharmacotherapy guidelines support algorithms for MDD treatment.

Extended signatures and link concordance

open access: yesProceedings of the Edinburgh Mathematical Society
Abstract The Levine–Tristram signature admits a  µ -variable extension for  µ -component links: it was first defined as an integer-valued function on
