Estimating impacts of emission specific characteristics on vehicle operation for quantifying air pollutant emissions and energy use

open access: yesJournal of Traffic and Transportation Engineering (English ed. Online), 2017
This paper proposes and illustrates a methodology to predict the fraction of time motor vehicles spend in different operating conditions from readily observable variables called emission specific characteristics (ESC).

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Symmetries of partial differential equations

open access: yes, 2003
We establish a link between the study of completely integrable systems of partial differential equations and the study of generic submanifolds in C^n.

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

Recovering the polyhedral geometry of fragmentsThe manuscript contains the link to the data

open access: yesMethodsX
Not only is the geometry of rock fragments often well approximated by ideal convex polyhedra having few faces and vertices, but these numbers carry vital geophysical information on the fragmentation process.Despite their significance, the identification ...

Study of kerf geometry of multilayers materials in abrasive water jet cutting process

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2017
The use of abrasive jet cutting in case of multilayers materials, shows particularities and difficulties, due to different hardness and thickness of layers.

cis-Dichloridobis(N,N,N′,N′-tetramethylethane-1,2-diamine)platinum(II)

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2012
In the title complex, [PtCl2(C6H16N2)], the PtII atom adopts a distorted cis-PtN2Cl2 square-planar coordination geometry. The five-membered chelate ring adopts a twisted conformation.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Ideal Hopf-link mode in phonon material Ba2OsH6

open access: yesJPhys Materials
Phonon systems have emerged as potential platforms for exploring nontrivial band topologies. Meanwhile, two (or more) closed nodal lines (CNLs) may nest with each other and form a Hopf-link mode in momentum space.
