Transitive Decompositions of Graphs and Their Links with Geometry and Origami [PDF]

open access: yesThe American Mathematical Monthly, 2010
A transitive decomposition of a graph is a partition of the edge or arc set giving a set of subgraphs which are preserved and permuted transitively by a group of automorphisms of the graph. In this paper we give some background to the study of transitive decompositions and highlight a connection with partial linear spaces.

Speciation Through the Lens of Population Dynamics: A Theoretical Primer on How Small and Large Populations Diverge

open access: yesPopulation Ecology, EarlyView.
Population size and dynamics fundamentally shape speciation by influencing genetic drift, founder events, and adaptive potential. Small populations may speciate rapidly due to stronger drift, whereas large populations harbor more genetic diversity, which can alter divergence trajectories. We highlight theoretical models that incorporate population size

VRM: A Unified Framework for Closed-Form Solutions of a Special Class of Serial Manipulators

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Robotic Systems, 2015
This paper proposes the virtual reconfiguration method (VRM) to construct the unified framework for closed-form solutions of a special class of serial manipulators.

A stepwise emergence of evolution in the RNA world

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
How did biological evolution emerge from chemical reactions? This perspective proposes a gradual scenario of self‐organization among RNA molecules, where catalytic feedback on random mixtures plays the central role. Short oligomers cross‐ligate, and self‐assembly enables heritable variations. An event of template‐externalization marks the transition to

Shape and fluctuations of frustrated self-assembled nano ribbons

open access: yesNature Communications, 2019
Supramolecular assemblies achieve nontrivial structures but there is no general framework to link their formation to molecular properties. Here the authors propose a model that relates molecular geometry and interactions to nanoribbon formation ...

Gauge theory and $\mathrm G_2$-geometry on Calabi–Yau links [PDF]

open access: yesRevista Matemática Iberoamericana, 2020
The 7-dimensional link K of a weighted homogeneous hypersurface on the round 9-sphere in \mathbb{C}^5 has a nontrivial null Sasakian structure which is contact Calabi–Yau, in many cases. It admits a canonical co-calibrated

B cell mechanobiology in health and disease: emerging techniques and insights into therapeutic responses

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
B cells sense external mechanical forces and convert them into biochemical signals through mechanotransduction. Understanding how malignant B cells respond to physical stimuli represents a groundbreaking area of research. This review examines the key mechano‐related molecules and pathways in B lymphocytes, highlights the most relevant techniques to ...

Effect of Insert Angles on Cutting Tool Geometry [PDF]

open access: yesЖурнал інженерних наук, 2020
An analysis of publications has shown that mechanically clamped indexable inserts are predominantly used in modern tool manufacturing. Each insert has its shape and geometry in the tool coordinate system. The static system’s required geometry is achieved

Geometrical enhancement of the electric field: Application of fractional calculus in nanoplasmonics

open access: yes, 2011
We developed an analytical approach, for a wave propagation in metal-dielectric nanostructures in the quasi-static limit. This consideration establishes a link between fractional geometry of the nanostructure and fractional integro-differentiation.
