Safety of Daprodustat for the Treatment of Chronic Kidney Disease Anemia: Final Analysis of a Multicenter Postmarketing Surveillance Study in Japan

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction This final analysis of a multicenter, prospective postmarketing surveillance study evaluated the safety of daprodustat in patients with chronic kidney disease anemia in routine clinical practice in Japan. Methods Patients who initiated daprodustat between September 2020 and July 2022 were registered.

Meta‐analysis of linkage studies [PDF]

open access: yesGenetic Epidemiology, 1999
AbstractLander and Kruglyak [1995] gave guidelines for interpreting linkage results based on estimating how often a particular threshold for significance would be exceeded by chance in a single genome scan. What is unknown is how often two or more genome scans would exceed a particular threshold within the same region.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

On a Randomization Procedure in Linkage Analysis [PDF]

open access: yesThe American Journal of Human Genetics, 1999
Although much theoretical work has been undertaken to derive thresholds for statistical significance in genetic linkage studies, real data are often complicated by many factors, such as missing individuals or uninformative markers, which make the validity of these theoretical results questionable. Many simulation-based methods have been proposed in the

Linkage to chromosome 11p12 in two Maltese families with a highly penetrant form of osteoporosis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Osteoporosis is a metabolic bone disease with a strong genetic component. Family-based linkage studies were performed by a number of investigators to try to identify loci that might contain genes responsible for an increased susceptibility to ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Dynamic behaviour of a vibratory linkage mechanism with bearing clearance. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1974
PhDThe work presented involves the theoretical and experimental studies of the kinematic and dynamic effects of bearing clearance in linkage mechanisms.

Exclusion of the Locus for Autosomal Recessive Pseudohypoaldosteronism Type 1 from the Mineralocorticoid Receptor Gene Region on Human Chromosome 4q by Linkage Analysis. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
Pseudohypoaldosteronism type 1 (PHA1) is an uncommon inherited disorder characterized by salt-wasting in infancy arising from target organ unresponsiveness to mineralocorticoids.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Regression analysis under probabilistic multi-linkage

open access: yes, 2011
Linkage errors can occur when probability-based methods are used to link records from two distinct data sets corresponding to the same target population.
