Linkage analysis of Pseudomonas glycinea [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Bacteriology, 1978
The IncP-1 plasmid R68 and variants R68.45 and R68.185 were tested for their chromosome donor ability in a selected recipient of Pseudomonas glycinea PGR12. It was found that variants did not express their selected characteristic of increased donor ability over that of R68 or R68.5, our commonly used donor plasmids.

Language, Culture, and Cancer: Qualitative Insights Into Communication Disparities Among Spanish‐Speaking Caregivers of Children With Cancer

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Latino children are projected to make up nearly one‐third of United States (US) children by 2060, and many of their caregivers speak Spanish. Prior survey research has documented communication difficulties for Spanish‐speaking caregivers of children with cancer, but contemporary qualitative data are limited.

An AFLP marker linked to the Pm-1 gene that confers resistance to Podosphaera xanthii race 1 in Cucumis melo

open access: yesGenetics and Molecular Biology, 2008
Brazil produced 330,000 metric tons of melons in 2005, principally in the Northeast region where one of the most important melon pathogens is the powdery mildew fungus Podosphaera xanthii. The disease is controlled mainly by incorporating single dominant

Linkage analysis of longitudinal data [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Genetics, 2003
Abstract Background We propose a statistical model for linkage analysis of the longitudinal data. The proposed model is a mixed model based on the new Haseman and Elston model and allows several random effects.

OTU deubiquitinases reveal mechanisms of linkage specificity and enable ubiquitin chain restriction analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Sixteen ovarian tumor (OTU) family deubiquitinases (DUBs) exist in humans, and most members regulate cell-signaling cascades. Several OTU DUBs were reported to be ubiquitin (Ub) chain linkage specific, but comprehensive analyses are missing, and the ...

Biphasic Clinical Course of Pediatric Cytomegalovirus‐Associated Immune Thrombocytopenia: Early Poor Treatment Response but Favorable Long‐Term Outcomes

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Cytomegalovirus (CMV) is a recognized trigger of immune thrombocytopenia (ITP); however, its incidence and impact on disease course in children remain controversial. Therefore, we aimed to characterize the clinical course of pediatric patients with CMV‐associated ITP.

Sequence-Based Linkage Analysis [PDF]

open access: yesThe American Journal of Human Genetics, 2004
The rapid decrease in the cost of DNA sequencing will enable its use for novel applications. Here, we investigate the use of DNA sequencing for simultaneous discovery and genotyping of polymorphisms in family linkage studies. In the proposed approach, short contiguous segments of genomic DNA, regularly spaced across the genome, are resequenced in each ...

Serum Myonectin Levels Are Positively Associated With Physical Function and Lower Frailty‐Related Limitation in Maintenance Hemodialysis Patients: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients frequently suffer from frailty, characterized by reduced physical function and poor prognosis. Myokines, such as myonectin, secreted by muscle, are emerging regulators of systemic health. This study investigated the relationship between serum myonectin, adipokines (adiponectin, omentin), and ...

Identification of SSR Marker Linked to a Major Dwarfing Gene in Common Wheat

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Agriculture, 2013
A segregating population with 410 F2 individuals from the cross MERCIA (Rht-B1a) × Dwarf 123 was made to identify a new major dwarfing gene carrying by novel wheat germplasm Dwarf 123. Combination of bulk segerant analysis method was used. A total of 145

Comparative Evaluation of Hemodiafiltration, Hemoperfusion, and Standard Hemodialysis on Efficacy, Inflammatory Control, Dialysis Adequacy, and Safety in End‐Stage Renal Disease: A Prospective Observational Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic micro‐inflammation in patients with end‐stage renal disease (ESRD) is a significant driver of cardiovascular complications and diminished quality of life. While standard hemodialysis (SHD) effectively manages small‐molecule clearance, its ability to remove medium‐to‐large uremic toxins—the primary catalysts of systemic ...
