The NLR protein PibH8 interacts with phenylalanine ammonia‐lyase OsPAL1 and E3 ubiquitin ligase OsFBK16. Through competitive binding, PibH8 weakens the interaction between OsFBK16 and OsPAL1, thereby reducing the degradation of OsPAL1 by OsFBK16. The Hap1 allele of PibH8 exhibits a higher expression level than Hap2, thus accumulating more PibH8 protein,

Genome-wide analysis of zygotic linkage disequilibrium and its components in crossbred cattle
Background Linkage disequilibrium (LD) between genes at linked or independent loci can occur at gametic and zygotic levels known asgametic LD and zygotic LD, respectively. Gametic LD is well known for its roles in fine-scale mapping of quantitative trait

Linkage disequilibrium in crossbred and pure line chickens
BackgroundBoth genome-wide association (GWA) studies and genomic selection depend on the level of non-random association of alleles at different loci, i.e. linkage disequilibrium (LD), across the genome.

Structural Variations Associated with Adaptation and Coat Color in Qinghai‐Tibetan Plateau Cattle
This study reveals the landscape of structural variants in Qinghai‐Tibetan Plateau cattle through long‐read sequencing. Discoveries include metabolic and oxygen‐regulation gene variants, along with a 2‐Mb KIT‐containing inversion and translocations responsible for cattle gray coat. These findings highlight the significant role of structural variants in

LINKAGE DISEQUILIBRIUM WITH THE ISLAND MODEL [PDF]
ABSTRACT Linkage disequilibrium between two linked loci was studied for a finite population with a subdivided population structure. Wright's island model was used; extinction and replacement of colonies were also incorporated. Two alleles (A 1 and A 2 at the first locus, and B 1 and B 2 at the second locus) with symmetric mutation ...

Co‐Selection of Low Cadmium Accumulation and High Yield During Tomato Improvement
This study finds that large‐fruited tomatoes accumulate less cadmium (Cd) compared to wild tomatoes and cherry tomatoes. This is because, during the improvement process of tomato, the low‐Cd allele LCT1A and the large fruit allele fw3.2T are closely linked, leading to a co‐selection event.

Long range linkage disequilibrium across the human genome. [PDF]
Long-range linkage disequilibria (LRLD) between sites that are widely separated on chromosomes may suggest that population admixture, epistatic selection, or other evolutionary forces are at work. We quantified patterns of LRLD on a chromosome-wide level

GmSop20 Functions as a Key Coordinator of the Oil‐To‐Protein Ratio in Soybean Seeds
This study investigates the seed oil‐to‐protein ratio as a comprehensive quality metric and identifies GmSop20 as a crucial regulatory gene through forward genetics methodologies. By integrating GmSop20 with superior haplotypes and using gene editing/overexpression, new strategies are provided for precisely tuning the seed oil‐to‐protein ratio, thereby

Background A genetic model about quantitative trait loci (QTL) provides a basis to interpret the genetic basis of quantitative traits in a study population, such as additive, dominance and epistatic effects of QTL and the partition of genetic variance ...

Long-range linkage disequilibrium in French beef cattle breeds
Background Linkage disequilibrium (LD) is a key parameter to study the history of populations and to identify and fine map quantitative trait loci (QTL) and it has been studied for many years in animal populations.
