Structure‐forward targeting of claudins with synthetic binders
Claudins form the paracellular barriers between epithelial and endothelial tissues at tight junctions and are targets for molecular binders with the goal of modulating barrier permeability. Claudin‐binding molecules are relevant in drug delivery or in altering claudin interactions with disease‐causing proteins.

Alignment of the chicken linkage map with BAC contigs
The long term goal of our research is to align the chicken genetic linkage map, defined primarily by segregation of microsatellite and other DNA-based markers, with the anticipated BAC contig physical map of the chicken genome now being generated and ...

A linkage map of spring turnip rape based on RFLP and HARD markers
A linkage map of spring turnip rape (Brassica rapa ssp. oleifera) was conslructed from an F2 population of a cross Jo4002 x Sv3402. The map contained 22 RFLP loci, 144 RAPDs, one microsatellite, and one morphological marker (seed colour).

Constructing linkage map based on a four-way cross population
Currently, developing genetic linkage map mostly use the derived-populations from crossing of two homogenous parents, which only covers limited genetic diversity and is inappropriate for some species, such as tobacco with lower diversity in genome. It is

Animals must match their growth rate to available nutrients. We show that in Drosophila larvae, the nutrient‐sensing TOR kinase controls growth by regulating levels of TFAM, a key regulator of mitochondrial function, in the adipose tissue. When nutrients are abundant, high TOR activity suppresses TFAM, lowering mitochondrial bioenergetic activity and ...

A sequence-tagged linkage map of Brassica raga
A detailed genetic linkage map of Brassica rapa has been constructed containing 545 sequence-tagged loci covering 1287 cM, with an average mapping interval of 2.4 cM. The loci were identified using a combination of 520 RFLP and 25 PCR-based markers. RFLP

Comparative genomic analysis of Atlantic salmon,
Background Several lines of evidence including allozyme analysis, restriction digest patterns and sequencing of mtDNA as well as mini- and micro-satellite allele frequencies indicate that Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) from North America and Europe are ...

Engineering peptides into antibodies—opportunities and strategies for therapeutic innovation
Peptides and antibodies occupy complementary therapeutic niches. Peptides recognize difficult targets in a compact format, while antibodies add specificity, long half‐life, and effector functions. This review examines strategies that merge both modalities—peptide grafting into loops, terminal and Fc fusions, and bioconjugation—highlighting how ...

Meiotic maps of sockeye salmon derived from massively parallel DNA sequencing
Background Meiotic maps are a key tool for comparative genomics and association mapping studies. Next-generation sequencing and genotyping by sequencing are speeding the processes of SNP discovery and the development of new genetic tools, including ...
