Linkage mapping aided by de novo genome and transcriptome assembly in Portunus trituberculatus: applications in growth-related QTL and gene identification

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
A high-resolution genetic linkage map is an essential tool for decoding genetics and genomics in non-model organisms. In this study, a linkage map was constructed for the swimming crab (Portunus trituberculatus) with 10,963 markers; as far as we know ...

A multilocus likelihood approach to joint modeling of linkage, parental diplotype and gene order in a full-sib family

open access: yesBMC Genetics, 2004
Background Unlike a pedigree initiated with two inbred lines, a full-sib family derived from two outbred parents frequently has many different segregation types of markers whose linkage phases are not known prior to linkage analysis. Results We formulate

A consensus linkage map of the grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) based on microsatellites and SNPs

open access: yesBMC Genomics, 2010
Background Grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) belongs to the family Cyprinidae which includes more than 2000 fish species. It is one of the most important freshwater food fish species in world aquaculture.

EST-derived SSR markers used as anchor loci for the construction of a consensus linkage map in ryegrass (Lolium spp.)

open access: yesBMC Plant Biology, 2010
Background Genetic markers and linkage mapping are basic prerequisites for marker-assisted selection and map-based cloning. In the case of the key grassland species Lolium spp., numerous mapping populations have been developed and characterised for ...

The History Of Genome Mapping In Fragaria Spp.

open access: yesJournal of Horticultural Research, 2014
This overview summarizes the research programs devoted to mapping the genomes within Fragaria genus. A few genetic linkage maps of diploid and octoploid Fragaria species as well as impressive physical map of F. vesca were developed in the last decade and

Construction and integration of genetic linkage maps from three multi-parent advanced generation inter-cross populations in rice

open access: yesRice, 2020
Background The construction of genetic maps based on molecular markers is a crucial step in rice genetic and genomic studies. Pure lines derived from multiple parents provide more abundant genetic variation than those from bi-parent populations. Two four-

Identifying and Mapping Linkages between Actors in the Climate Change Innovation System

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural Extension, 2012
Promoting innovations in climate change requires innovation partnerships and linkages and also creating an enabling environment for actors. The paper reviewed available information on the identification and mapping of linkages between actors in the ...

Tools for quantitative trait locus mapping and genome-wide association study mapping: a review

open access: yes浙江大学学报. 农业与生命科学版, 2014
One of the key objectives in genomics studies is to understand genetic architecture of complex traits and diseases. Quantitative trait locus (QTL) mapping and genome-wide association study (GWAS) mapping have been using to dissect genetic architecture of

Rice molecular markers and genetic mapping: Current status and prospects

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Agriculture, 2017
Dramatic changes in climatic conditions that supplement the biotic and abiotic stresses pose severe threat to the sustainable rice production and have made it a difficult task for rice molecular breeders to enhance production and productivity under these

A Linkage Map of the Canine Genome

open access: yesGenomics, 1997
A genetic linkage map of the canine genome has been developed by typing 150 microsatellite markers using 17 three-generation pedigrees, composed of 163 F2 individuals. One hundred and thirty-nine markers were linked to at least one other marker with a lod score > or = 3.0, identifying 30 linkage groups. The largest chromosome had 9 markers spanning 106.
