Multi layer error protection on simplex links

SPIE Proceedings, 2008
In the atmospheric optical channel amplitude modulated beam experience slow amplitude variations coming from refraction caused by atmospheric turbulence. The receiver introduces noise making the detection of the binary data subject to errors. Normally physical-layer proactive error protection is used to protect the system.

Visual Error Analysis for Entity Linking

Proceedings of ACL-IJCNLP 2015 System Demonstrations, 2015
We present the Visual Entity Explorer (VEX), an interactive tool for visually exploring and analyzing the output of entity linking systems. VEX is designed to aid developers in improving their systems by visualizing system results, gold annotations, and various mention detection and entity linking error types in a clear, concise, and customizable ...

Pointing error evaluation in FSO link

Fifth International Conference on Advances in Recent Technologies in Communication and Computing (ARTCom 2013), 2013
Pointing error results from misalignment between transmitter and receiver or turbulence. In long FSO links range pointing error and attenuation can results in increased BER and link failure. A small change in pointing error can cause high power losses.

Tuneable error correction and link restructuring

Communications Engineer, 2003
The article discusses a new short parallel-concatenated modulation coding technique that shows early promising results. It presents a modulation tree code producing a binary symbol within quadrature modulation with a 16PSK demodulator/decoder. Symbols are allocated in two binary sets.

Splitting TCP in parallel for error-prone links

Fourth International Conference on Information, Communications and Signal Processing, 2003 and the Fourth Pacific Rim Conference on Multimedia. Proceedings of the 2003 Joint, 2004
This paper explores the concept of parallel TCP, which splits a traditional single TCP connection into a number of virtual ones in parallel. A performance model of parallel TCP is presented to explain how parallel TCP can improve throughput performance.

Link Layer Error Mitigation in Rural UHF-MIMO Linking Systems

TENCON 2005 - 2005 IEEE Region 10 Conference, 2005
This paper investigates the effect of link-layer error mitigation support in UHF-MIMO based digital linking systems, specifically investigating the example of the Tait Electronics rural linking system. This provides network connectivity to remote communities using an IP-over air packet-based TDD MIMO radio system. Analytical expressions are derived for

Error Link Detection and Correction in Wikipedia

Proceedings of the 25th ACM International on Conference on Information and Knowledge Management, 2016
The hyperlink structure of Wikipedia forms a rich semantic network connecting entities and concepts, enabling it as a valuable source for knowledge harvesting. Wikipedia, as crowd-sourced data, faces various data quality issues which significantly impacts knowledge systems depending on it as the information source.

An analysis of link level protocols for error prone links

Proceedings of the seventh symposium on Data communications - SIGCOMM '81, 1981
This paper analyzes the maximum throughput across a full duplex link, under three link level protocols. The three protocols all assume cumulative acknowledgements, but the sender's retransmission policy and the destination's policy on retaining correctly received packets which arrive before an expected retransmission do differ. The results quantify the

Transmission Errors in Screen-Camera Link System

2020
During the last decade various visible light communication (VLC) systems are vastly spreading and evolving to the more user-friendly data transmitting ecosystems with complex dedicated hardware utilisation less needed. We developed a simplex data transmission system based on a LED screen of smartphone Samsung S10e and a conventional web-camera Logitech

A Novel Error-Tolerant Anonymous Linking Code

SSRN Electronic Journal, 2011
An anonymous linking code is an encrypted key for linking data from dierent sources. So far, quite simple algorithms for the generation of such codes based on personal characteristics as names and date of birth are in common use. These algorithms will yield many non matching codes when facing errors in the underlying indentifier values.
