Link Error Control and Network Route Selection

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1961
Military networks must deliver messages during periods of high noise. On a link basis, character reliability can be increased using decision feedback for error control. Two specific decision feedback schemes are described in detail. The improved reliabilities and the reduced capacities for information transfer are computed.

Link error prediction methods for multicarrier systems

IEEE 60th Vehicular Technology Conference, 2004. VTC2004-Fall. 2004, 2005
Multicarrier modulations such as OFDM with adaptive modulation and coding (AMC) are well suited for high data rate broadband systems that operate in multipath environments and are considered as promising candidates for future generation cellular systems (e.g., 4G).

Error-correcting data links using chain codes

Proceedings of the IEE Part B: Electronic and Communication Engineering, 1962
Chain codes are a form of digit sequence which have error-correcting properties when suitably arranged, and methods of finding the best code for any particular application are detailed. A particular equipment is described in outline which would be suitable for transmitting the contents of one computer store over a telephone line and into another store.

Abbreviations formally linked to medication errors.

Healthcare benchmarks and quality improvement, 2007
Study shows nearly 5% of the 643,151 errors reported to Medmarx were attributable to abbreviation use. Many of the 'problem' abbreviations were on The Joint Commission's 'do not use' list. Reporting often found to be inaccurate and/or incomplete.

Linking Speech Errors and Generative Phonological Theory

Language and Linguistics Compass, 2011
Abstract Speech errors are a critical source of data on the tacit knowledge that underlies our creative use of language. Studies of errors in spontaneous speech, in experimental paradigms such as tongue twisters, and those produced by aphasic individuals reveal the influence of linguistic principles on the production of speech ...

Transient and Permanent Link Errors Co-Management

2011
Transient and permanent errors can be co-managed at the network layer. Ali et al. use end-to-end error detection and retransmission to deal with transient errors; they utilize deterministic rerouting to avoid broken links [1]. Sanusi et al. apply single-error correction and multiple-error detection to packets at the destination, and request flooding if

Probabilistic Error Detecting in Numerical Linked Data

2015
Linked Open Data LOD has become a vast repository with billions of triples available in thousands of datasets. One of the most pressing challenges to Linked Data management is detecting errors in numerical data. This study proposes a novel probabilistic framework that enables the detection of inconsistencies in numerical attributes including not only ...
