Mesenchymal Stem Cell‐Derived Apoptotic Micro‐Vesicles Repaired Sciatic Nerve Defect by Regulating Early Inflammatory Microenvironment and Promoting Angiogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
HUCMSC‐Apo‐mvs enhance peripheral nerve repair by modulating the inflammatory microenvironment (IME), primarily through coordinated actions on three functional cells. They recruit macrophages and promote their polarization from pro‐inflammatory M1 to anti‐inflammatory M2 phenotypes, increasing secretion of IL‐10 and VEGF.

Physical effects of cholesterol on arterial smooth muscle membranes: evidence of immiscible cholesterol domains and alterations in bilayer width during atherogenesis

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1998
Small angle X-ray diffraction was used to examine arterial smooth muscle cell (SMC) plasma membranes isolated from control and cholesterol-fed (2%) atherosclerotic rabbits.

Nano‐Engineered Titanium Implants Loaded With Gingival Fibroblasts‐Derived Microvesicles Enhance Early Osseointegration And Soft Tissue Attachment In Vivo

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Our study showed that human primary gingival fibroblast–derived microvesicles on nano‐engineered titanium implants promote early osseointegration and soft‐tissue attachment in vivo. ABSTRACT Titanium dental implants require both reliable osseointegration and peri‐implant soft tissue seal formation to ensure long‐term success. While osseointegration has

The Importance of Bilayer Asymmetry in Biological Membranes: Insights from Model Membranes

open access: yesMembranes
This mini-review intends to highlight the importance of bilayer asymmetry. Biological membranes are complex structures that are a physical barrier separating the external environment from the cellular content.

Evaluation of the Dual Impact of Nanotechnologies on Health and Environment Through Alternative Bridging Models

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review explores how alternative invertebrate and small‐vertebrate models advance the evaluation of nanomaterials across medicine and environmental science. By bridging cellular and organismal levels, these models enable integrated assessment of toxicity, biodistribution, and therapeutic performance.

Polyphenol‐Mediated Engineering of Lipid Nanoparticles With Crystalline Mesophases

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A polyphenol‐mediated strategy enables the one‐step formation of lipid nanoparticles with nonlamellar mesophases, including micellar cubic and hexagonal structures. These highly ordered nanostructures accommodate a wide range of cargos—from metal ions to mRNA—and offer a modular and versatile platform for constructing functional lipid‐based delivery ...

Influence of PLIN5 and lipid composition on lipid droplet contact sites with other organelles

open access: yesBiochemistry and Biophysics Reports
Lipid droplets (LDs) maintain cellular lipid homeostasis through dynamic interactions with other organelles. Understanding how these contact sites form is crucial for uncovering the mechanisms of lipid exchange and signaling. In this study, we used an in
