Lipids Composition in Plant Membranes [PDF]

open access: yesCell Biochemistry and Biophysics, 2020
AbstractThe paper focuses on the selected plant lipid issues. Classification, nomenclature, and abundance of fatty acids was discussed. Then, classification, composition, role, and organization of lipids were displayed. The involvement of lipids in xantophyll cycle and glycerolipids synthesis (as the most abundant of all lipid classes) were also ...

Lipid composition of the vascular system during infancy, childhood, and young adulthood

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1967
The object of this study was to determine the changes in lipid composition that occur in blood vessels from infancy to young adulthood. Analyses included levels of total cholesterol, total triglyceride, phospholipid, and cholesteryl ester fatty acids ...

A simple method for the determination of lipid composition of human bile [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
The Entero-Test®, a device for easy sampling of gastrointestinal contents, including bile, has been used for determination of biliary lipid composition. The device consists of a weighted gelatine capsule containing 140 cm of a highly absorbant nylon line.

COMPOSITION OF LIPIDS IN STALLION SEMEN [PDF]

open access: yesReproduction, 1965
Summary. Twenty-nine ejaculates of semen were collected from five stallions (four thoroughbreds and one quarterhorse) for this study. The volume of semen, cell count and gel volume/ejaculate averaged 105 ml, 143 × 106/ml and 36·8 ml, respectively.

High-throughput analysis of total plasma fatty acid composition with direct in situ transesterification. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Plasma fatty acid (FA) composition reflects dietary intake and endogenous turnover and is associated with health outcomes on a short and long term basis. The total plasma FA pool represents the composition of all FA containing lipid fractions.

Dietary soybean lecithin affects growth performance, fillet biochemical composition and digestive enzyme activity in Sparidentex hasta juvenile

open access: yesJournal of Applied Animal Research, 2019
An eight-week study was conducted on silvery-black porgy (Sparidentex hasta) juveniles to evaluate four isoproteic, isolipidic and isoenergetic different diets (50% crude protein, 20% crude lipids, 18.5 MJ kg−1) containing graded levels of soybean ...

Lipid Composition of Trypanosoma ranarum.

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1964
SummaryThe lipid composition of Trypa-nosoma ranarum was determined. The cells contained traces of monoglycerides and about equal amounts of di- and triglycerides. Free fatty acids and “fast acting“ sterols, mostly in free form, were present. The sterol was isolated and identified as ergosterol. The implications of these findings are discussed.

Composition of biologically active lipids of lamiaceae seed oils

open access: yesGrasas y Aceites, 2004
The content of glyceride oil, phospholipid, sterol and tocopherol composition of 7 species of fam. Lamiaceae seeds were investigated. 8.7-28.6 % of glyceride oil in the seeds were determined. The content of phospholipids in the oils was found to be 1.0-1.

The Lipid Composition of Rabies Virus

open access: yesZeitschrift für Naturforschung C, 1973
The lipid composition of the Flury HEP strain of rabies virus grown in BHK 21/C 13 cells was determined. The dried purified virus preparation contains 5.5 % neutral and 19.5 % polar lipids. Cholesterol was found to be the major neutral lipid. Phopholipids constitute 11.2 %; and glycolipids represent 4.6 % of the virus mass.
