In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Effects of gender and menopausal status on plasma lipoprotein subspecies and particle sizes
The risk of coronary heart disease (CHD) is lower in women than in men, but increases in women after menopause. Some of the gender, age, and menopausal-related differences in CHD risk may relate to differences in lipoprotein subspecies.

IGFBP4 knockdown (KD) impairs preadipocyte proliferation and is associated with IGF1R protein downregulation and attenuated AKT phosphorylation. The mechanisms by which IGFBP4 KD influences the IGF1R/AKT signaling pathway involve newly synthesized proteins and lysosomal degradation pathways. Created in BioRender.

Cutaneous Melanoma Drives Metabolic Changes in the Aged Bone Marrow Immune Microenvironment
Melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, increasingly affects older adults. Our study reveals that melanoma induces changes in iron and lipid levels in the bone marrow, impacting immune cell populations and increasing susceptibility to ferroptosis.

Peroxisomes, lipid metabolism and lipotoxicity
Peroxisomes play an essential role in cellular lipid metabolism as exemplified by the existence of a number of genetic diseases in humans caused by the impaired function of one of the peroxisomal enzymes involved in lipid metabolism.
