LLHD: A Multi-level Intermediate Representation for Hardware Description Languages [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Modern Hardware Description Languages (HDLs) such as SystemVerilog or VHDL are, due to their sheer complexity, insufficient to transport designs through modern circuit design flows. Instead, each design automation tool lowers HDLs to its own Intermediate Representation (IR).

Remnant Cholesterol and Triglyceride-Rich Lipoproteins in Atherosclerosis Progression and Cardiovascular Disease.

open access: yesArteriosclerosis, Thrombosis and Vascular Biology, 2016
In this issue of the journal, Puri et al1 examines the association of on-treatment concentrations of non–high-density lipoprotein (non-HDL) cholesterol and triglycerides with coronary atheroma progression and clinical events.

Nascent high density lipoproteins from liver perfusates of orotic acid-fed rats.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1990
Uniformly fatty livers from orotic acid-fed rats secreted almost no very low density lipoproteins (VLDL) but normal amounts of nascent high density lipoproteins (HDL) accumulated in perfusates.

Secretion from cell culture of HDL and VLDL bearing apoB-33 with a large internal deletion

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1997
Rat hepatoma McA-RH7777 cells synthesize and secrete two populations of apoB-containing lipoproteins: a larger, VLDL-sized population floating in the Sf 40-150 range and a smaller, LDL and HDL-sized population. Three permanently transfected cell lines of

Serum amyloid A: high-density lipoproteins interaction and cardiovascular risk.

open access: yesEuropean Heart Journal, 2015
AIMS High-density lipoproteins (HDLs) are considered as anti-atherogenic. Recent experimental findings suggest that their biological properties can be modified in certain clinical conditions by accumulation of serum amyloid A (SAA).

Blood lipoproteins shape the phenotype and lipid content of early atherosclerotic lesion macrophages: a dual-structured mathematical model [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Macrophages in atherosclerotic lesions exhibit a spectrum of behaviours or phenotypes. The phenotypic distribution of monocyte-derived macrophages (MDMs), its correlation with MDM lipid content, and relation to blood lipoprotein densities are not well understood.

A Dynamical Model of Lipoprotein Metabolism [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2006
We present a dynamical model of lipoprotein metabolism derived by combining a cascading process in the blood stream and cellular level regulatory dynamics. We analyse the existence and stability of equilibria and show that this low-dimensional, nonlinear model exhibits bistability between a low and a high cholesterol state.

Effect of hypertension on low-density lipoprotein transport within a multi-layered arterial wall: modelling consistent with experiments [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
The influence of hypertension on low-density lipoproteins intake into the arterial wall is an important factor for understanding mechanisms of atherosclerosis. It has been experimentally observed that the increased pressure leads to the higher level of the LDL inside the wall.
