Liposomes and ISCOMs

Vaccine, 2003
Liposomes and ISCOMs have a long history as vehicles for antigen delivery. Liposomes can carry both membrane associated antigens as well as water soluble molecules. Their physical properties are highly variable, depending on composition and manufacturing method.

Autoclaving of liposomes

Journal of Microencapsulation, 1994
The attempt was made to study liposome stability and oxidation under the autoclaving conditions. It was shown that after the preliminary air removal from a liposome sample there was no lipid oxidation (malonaldehyde bis(dimethyl acetate) was used as a control) and liposome content leakage during autoclaving.

Role of Liposome Size, Surface Charge, and PEGylation on Rheumatoid Arthritis Targeting Therapy.

ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces, 2019
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic, systemic, progressive autoimmune disease. The vascular permeability of inflamed joints in RA makes it a natural candidate for passive targeting, similar to the enhanced permeability and retention (EPR) effect in ...

Liposome Opsonization

Journal of Liposome Research, 2005
Adsorption of serum proteins to the liposomal surface plays a critical role in the clearance of liposomes from the blood circulation. In this review, we will discuss the role of the liposomal opsonins proposed so far in liposome clearance. Additional, related topics that will be addressed are the cell-surface receptors that might be involved in ...

Liposomes in cosmeceutics

Expert Opinion on Drug Delivery, 2012
Cosmeceuticals are cosmetic products with biologically active ingredients purporting to have medical or drug-like benefits. Some cosmeceuticals can act effectively when reaching their target sites in the deeper layers of the skin. However, the barrier nature of skin causes significant difficulties for compounds to be delivered through.

Analysis of liposomes

Talanta, 2006
Liposomes are highly versatile structures for research, therapeutic, and analytical applications. In order to assess the quality of liposomes and obtain quantitative measures that allow comparison between different batches of liposomes, various parameters should be monitored.

Liposomes in analyses

Talanta, 2006
The use of liposomes as analytical and bioanalytical reagents has been shown to be successful of in a variety of different applications that will be reviewed here. Due to their high surface area, large internal volume, and ability to conjugate bilayer lipids with a variety of biorecognition elements liposomes have been used in homogenous and ...

Multifunctional Liposome: A Bright AIEgen-Lipid Conjugate with Strong Photosensitization.

Angewandte Chemie, 2018
Liposomes have been used as popular drug delivery systems for cancer therapy. However, it is difficult to track traditional liposome delivery systems in an efficient and stable fashion to assess their delivery efficacy and biodistribution after ...

Holo-Lactoferrin Modified Liposome for Relieving Tumor Hypoxia and Enhancing Radiochemotherapy of Cancer.

Small, 2019
Hypoxic microenvironments in the solid tumor play a negative role in radiotherapy. Holo-lactoferrin (holo-Lf) is a natural protein, which acts as a potential ligand of transferrin receptor (TfR). In this work, an anticancer drug, doxorubicin (Dox)-loaded
