Lipidic nanoparticles (LNPs) were incubated with 21 gut bacteria frequently associated with the human microbiome. SAXS revealed that ∼75% of tested species induced structural transformations in monoolein LNPs, whereas phytantriol and phospholipid formulations remained unaffected.

Encapsulation of Bacteriophage in Liposome Accentuates Its Entry in to Macrophage and Shields It from Neutralizing Antibodies. [PDF]
Phage therapy has been a centre of attraction for biomedical scientists to treat infections caused by drug resistant strains. However, ability of phage to act only on extracellular bacteria and probability of interference by anti-phage antibodies in vivo

In Vitro Evaluation of the Efficacy of Liposomal and Pegylated Liposomal Hydroxyurea [PDF]
Breast cancer is one of the most frequent cancer types within women population. Hydroxyurea (HU) is a chemotherapy compound for treatment of patients with cancer diagnosis, including breast cancer associated with several adverse effects. In this study, we applied nanotechnology to decreased drug side effects along with improvement of therapeutic index.

The nanostructure, size, and function of mRNA‐loaded lipid nanoparticles are evaluated before drying, within polymer microneedles, and after rehydration. The results reveal the polymer and LNP loadings required to recover nanostructure and preserve the delivery performance in dry‐state formulations.

Mechanoluminescent HOF Nanotransducers Enabled Sono‐Optogenetics in Parkinsonian Rats
We present a mechanoluminescent system utilizing porous hydrogen‐bonded organic frameworks (HOFs) as a toolkit for focused ultrasound‐triggered, non‐invasive light delivery to the deep brain in rats. This approach enables the specific activation of PV‐GPe neurons in dopamine‐depleted Parkinson's disease rat models, resulting in a comparable alleviation

Engineering of Glioblastoma‐Derived Biomimetic Vesicles and Their Structural and Molecular Features
ABSTRACT Biomimetic nanosystems and vesicles have arisen as a novel approach to design vesicular transport systems with diverse therapeutic potential. The ‘biomimetic’ strategy involves the integration of cell membrane components into lipid bilayers, conferring them with biological properties originating from the cell of origin. Until now, most studies

Quantitative modeling of the high-throughput production and in vivo kinetics of (drug-encapsulating) liposomes. [PDF]
In developing liposomes for in vivo use, it is important to design the liposomes to have optimal in vivo kinetics, and it is also necessary to identify optimal high-throughput production conditions for these liposomes.

The clearance rate of liposomal drugs from the circulation is determined by the rate and extent of both drug release and uptake of liposomes by cells of the mononuclear phagocyte system (MPS). Intravenously injected liposomes initially come into contact with serum proteins.
